Rustic Canyon Golf Course

This course is one of the best courses you can play in the LA area. Greens are big and fast. Fairways are generous but trouble awaits for missing one. Course is routed through the desert so lots of brush awaits badly missed shots and lost balls. Course was very busy and pace was a little slower than usual. Only real complaint was the poor condition of the bunkers. No maintenance had been done on them since the rains ended and they were rock hard and wet. Although there was little wind through most of the round, this course can get very windy so be prepared.

This golf course is awesome, tucked in a canyon setting with phenomenal views. Challenging at times when the wind hits but makes the course difficult to navigate through. Great condition and very risk/reward opportunities at every hole.

Iam a Golf pro,so when I do play I really want a course to be playable for the average Golfer,this course is long but wide, soI loved just ripping my driver all day and not worry about it, I hate courses that are strange and unique layouts,Rustic Canyon is more like links and I loved it,played just over 4 hours which is unheard of in so cal ! Great day !

I hadn't played Rustic in over a decade. The layout is unique and one of the best. The pace of play was excellent and the greens ran true. Local knowledge or playing several times will help with approach shots and reading breaks. The area around the greens are in great shape. I should also mention that the onboard GPS is the best I've seen... something you might expect at a high end resort. However, the fairways were spotty and hard pan at times. With the rainy season over, I'm not sure if they'll get better. The GOLFNOW got deal took some of the sting out of fairways. Overall, a great round and my friends and I will return despite the fairways issue.

Once again the course was in great shape. Very friendly staff and a bargain in green fees.

Pace of play was perfedt. Tee off right on time and finished in slightly more than 4 hours. Love layout of course. Greens were nice and fast.

Went off the back 1 hour delay but the course was great the greens were even better

The greens and 30-40 yards around the greens are amazing..... Great staff and the burgers were exceptional.... I usually do not play the same course twice when traveling but after the first day I had to come back...... Course makes you think and hit different shots, loved it......

I went with a buddy today from the area. we were both shocked at the dreadful conditions of the course. when driving up to the main building all I saw was brown grass. the grass was the brownest and hardest on a fairway I have ever seen. I read reviews of how great the course was but this was unbelievable really. I don't think the grass has seen water for months.. it was depressing honestly. the greens were dry but ok and large.

I would never advise a friend to go here with the present conditions

I have golfed several muni courses in la county and grass conditions were not great but better than at rustic canyon. this tells you how bad it was there.

don't go here until conditions improve

What a find! What a great value!! I was visiting my daughter in Burbank and had some free time. I stumbled upon this course while visiting the Reagan Library. The course is a world-class design by Gil Hanse and a pleasure to play. The layout winds its way around a canyon valley and reminds me a bit of playing in Arizona (but without the severe heat...its Cali, you know) and some of the holes are target golf. All the holes are a challenge without being unfair. The greens are challenging too.

I'll say it again, a great value. Play it!!!

This was an amazing course. Great layout and great views. The greens were the biggest I’ve ever played and challenging. The tee boxes were in amazing condition too. I also liked the high tech GPS in the cart that was touch screen and super responsive. I’ll definitely be back. Only weird thing was Marshall telling us to speed up when the group behind us was one hole behind; we asked if we were holding anyone up, and no one was seen behind us and were told the front 9 was starting to back up. It was really bizarre. He was nice about it but it didn’t make any sense.

The course is amazing! Recommend checking wind reports before you book your tee-time, yet the course it designed really well for the wind. Great California links design.

Only complaint was the mats on the driving range. Typically, there's a grass driving range. Next time I will call the pro-shop to confirm I can warm up on grass vs mats. I find grass to be incredibly important because the course requires a variety of knockdown shots and flighted shots with spin. Very hard to dial those shots in while warming up on mats.
