San Vicente Golf Resort

I had only played this course once before. I completely enjoyed the day. Wish I was a little more familiar with the layout and played better. I will come back again!

loved the course but too many members around and playing and the resort was way too crowded for my liking. golf was great!

Played the 7am shotgun today and was VERY impressed with course conditions. Fairways and greens were in excellent shape. Well worth the drive!!!

The course is in excellent shape and the layout can be, at times, challenging for a newcomer. Luckily, I played with a regular who helped point out where to aim, carry distances, etc. Small greens, so I did a lot of chipping from the fringes. Great value for the money.

To start off, I played on a sunday and tee'd off at 10:45am. The pace of play could've been a little faster but there was a tournament that started early, they were playing best ball so it wasnt TOO BAD. The course was taken care of pretty well, the greens rolled nice and there was a plethora of different 'types' of holes. ( Long and strait, uphill, downhill, dogleg left , dogleg right over water, etc...) The course was very forgiving yet challenging enough to keep you interested! I'll definately be going back sooner than later.

Great course that makes you hit multiple shots. Worth drive out there. Has an older course feel. Really enjoyed it.

Fun course, and really friendly staff. Played on 5/26/13, on a sunday on memorial weekend, yet the pace of play was good considering the amount of players. Course layout was interesting, and most fairways pretty tight. Course management is important. Many holes are not that long, and longer hitters can play irons from the tee with a reasonable approach to the green.

San Vicente is one of the best maintained courses in san diego county. It gets pretty hot and cold, even with this temperature gradient the ground staff has done an admirable job maintaining the course, given that they don't charge a whole lot of money.

the front nine gives you the opportunity to find your swing, the back nine expects you to hit accurate tee shots.

later in the day the golf course can play a whole lot longer from the tips.

the greens are reasonably fast, could be a touch faster!

Some of the bunkers don't have a whole lot of sand making the shots challenging.

Overall a great value !!!

Everything was great except there seemed to be no Marshall on the course. The foursome in front of us was SUPER SLOW!!! Every hole they spent 15-20 minutes looking for lost balls!

San V. is one of my favorite courses in the county. A really neat layout that is always in great shape. It is a bit of hike from SD but well worth the drive especially with a "hot deal". The greens were on the slow side from aerating last month but the rest of the course is in great shape. There is a cool 19th hole on the rooftop patio overlooking the course...nice touch!

This is my home course and I am very happy with the upgrades to the water holes and the general aesthetics of the course. The greens were in great shape but firm. The holes were fair but challenging especially during windy conditions as experienced this past Monday.

I think this is one of the best courses in the San Diego area. Very beautiful area in the back country. Takes a little extra time to get out there, but it is well worth it.

overall conditions were better then most courses, large and soft greens ,lush fairways and not to many fairway bunkers...a little bit of a drive but well worth the time and money.now for the negitives, greens were puched about 3 weeks ago and you really could not tell except they needed to be cut and were super spongy(slow and bumpy)only one or two greens had the same speed as the practice green.you really feel one with nature on this course, will be back!!

Coarse played about 4 hours.Coarse was in excellent shape.Staff was friendly.

Great hidden treasure that is well worth the 1 hour drive. The course has everything to offer w/a friendly staff & great 19th hole. The course has upkept t boxes, fairways, greens, actual sand in the bunkers & a great pace of play-my group finished in just over 4 hours. This is definetly a course to play again!!

Golfnow online booking system has glitches on their end requiring customer service to intervene to get times. The course, however, is fun to play. There is room to recover from errant shots within reason. Tee to green well maintained but greens are quite slow and a little bumpy. Nice lounge with great food for after the round. We stuck around on Saturday for some live music.

San Vicente Golf Course will make a great "stay & play" venue once the springtime course maintenance is completely recovered. Layout presents picturesque and challenging holes on both nines. Water hazards are fairly frequent, and on your first visit, well they can be discouraging... buy the yardage book!
Ladies tees provided my wife with the necessary yardage to be competitive, sometimes to a real advantage.

We both enjoyed the overall experience and felt it was worth the drive into the scenic hills of Ramona/San Vicente resort.

Course was in great shape. Greens were recently punched and extremely slow. Rough was pretty thick. Where else can you see wild turkeys courting near a tee box in a wild pristine setting?
