About
The Golf Club at Rio Vista is situated at the heart of northern California. With a scenic spot near the Sacramento River Delta, the course is even named after its scenic river view. The river delta meets rolling hills on this tough providing a unique setting equipped with distinctive water features. The skillfully crafted water holes are the trademarks of the design. The design mimics the natural lines carved by the river delta. The fairways are wide open but lengthy and generous greens can also be quite challenging as well. Rio Vista is a golf course that has appeal for players of all skill levels from novices to pros, whether it's the scenery or the diverse layout. Be careful on windy days though, the open course can be especially brutal.

Almost perfect
Friendly staff, neighbors and course. Course in really good condition. Just one thing that prevents a perfect five star rating, however. I believe it was hole 3 where sprinklers disrupted our play. We had to speak with a laborer about retrieving our ball.
I would recommend this course. It’s really well maintained with an interesting layout, weaving in and out of the neighborhood.
Cart problem
If the 2 groups didn’t leave in front of my group we would have waited an hour over our tee time, restaurant didn’t open till 1130 that a bummer too.
Golf Now ruined the day
This course is normally very good with great conditions and great spacing of Tee Times, but Saturday, Golf Now double booked the entire day resulting in Tee times pushed and Tee boxes backed up two to three groups. Ended up canceling.
The Course has come a long way from a few years ago.
Kudos to the greenskeepers, the course is getting back
Its former self, the rough was a bit long, but everything else was great.
Rio Vista course condition
I hadn't played Rio Vista in a few years and it was in much better condition than years ago. Staff was extremely friendly and professional and very nice pro shop. Unfortunately this course doesn't have a practice range, but had a nice practice putting area. Overall couse layout was good, although any balls hit just off the fairway would go into what I would describe as thicker weeds and VERY hard to find balls in this. I lost 3 balls that were no more than 15 feet off fairway, but I did find 8 balls while looking for mine. I didn't hit balls way off line, or in areas you would expect to ever lose a ball and this was frustrating. This was my reason for 4 and not 5 rating. Greens were in great shape and fairways were decent to good condition. With this said, I'd play this course again, but be prepared to lose a ball or two if you occasionally hit just off fairway.

Food in restaurant is horrible!
Horrible condition
The greens and tee boxes are the only decent part of this course, the greens were actually really nice. The fairways are in absolutely horrid condition. About 1/2 the SAN traps have nice sand and the other 1/2 are garbage. Nearly every hole looks the exact same, straight with hills sloping down toward the fairway on each side with houses on top of those hills.
Efforts are paying off
Fairways are shaping up. Greens are still good. Traps need more sand. The entire course is showing improvements from months past.... time to put this course on my playlist!
Terrible servicd
Have been playing here for years. Idk why I keep coming back. Christopher is rude at the pro shop, he is never in a good mood. I seem to always have a problem with him. No range, course is always in rough shape. Hopefully I learned my lesson this time.
Good Course for the Price
Fun and good laid out course for the price. Greens were in good shape with almost no bare spots. Fairways were in decent shape for end of Sept. Would play again
