About
The Golf Club at Rio Vista is situated at the heart of northern California. With a scenic spot near the Sacramento River Delta, the course is even named after its scenic river view. The river delta meets rolling hills on this tough providing a unique setting equipped with distinctive water features. The skillfully crafted water holes are the trademarks of the design. The design mimics the natural lines carved by the river delta. The fairways are wide open but lengthy and generous greens can also be quite challenging as well. Rio Vista is a golf course that has appeal for players of all skill levels from novices to pros, whether it's the scenery or the diverse layout. Be careful on windy days though, the open course can be especially brutal.

Food in restaurant is horrible!
Horrible condition
The greens and tee boxes are the only decent part of this course, the greens were actually really nice. The fairways are in absolutely horrid condition. About 1/2 the SAN traps have nice sand and the other 1/2 are garbage. Nearly every hole looks the exact same, straight with hills sloping down toward the fairway on each side with houses on top of those hills.
Efforts are paying off
Fairways are shaping up. Greens are still good. Traps need more sand. The entire course is showing improvements from months past.... time to put this course on my playlist!
Terrible servicd
Have been playing here for years. Idk why I keep coming back. Christopher is rude at the pro shop, he is never in a good mood. I seem to always have a problem with him. No range, course is always in rough shape. Hopefully I learned my lesson this time.
Good Course for the Price
Fun and good laid out course for the price. Greens were in good shape with almost no bare spots. Fairways were in decent shape for end of Sept. Would play again

No driving range, restaurant didn't open till 1130a, course layout is good, course condition is a little rough
Funky fairway Rio Vista
Nothing to eat till 11:30 AM Fairways were really tore up. Large spots were vacant of grass a lot of weeds in the fairway. The Grange were rather nice little bit. Slow at about a 10 the traps were in good condition overall I give it a mediocre three star. I’ve played many better courses for cheaper, including Cypress Lakes, Blue Rock Springs Hiddenbrooke
No driving range
Course was adequate and I'll be back. Wish I knew they didn't have a driving range prior to booking. No ball washers at any of the holes. A lot of course was under construction and that kind of got in the way of play.
Nice layout
The golf course offers a variety of shoes off the tee and in the fairways. Greens were good and fairways very well kept. Straight rather than length makes this a good course for a senior development. The bunkers are too filled with sand and need proper filling so you can play a proper shot out of them. It's like they just dumped sand into them with no grooming. They need to be a consistent depth and playability. They are not. I like the course. Make sure to check the weather report - it can be brutal out there with ferocious winds or extreme heat.
Just a little bit more TLC
The course is very playable. But due to overwatering, there’s some muddy spots that you have to navigate around with proper maneuvering. Greens were almost perfect. Fairways are in good shape besides all the maintenance closures on certain spots. Definitely will come back to play it again. No photos taken during this outing.
Terrible
Course is not being taken care of at all they are flooding the fairways and it’s all mud. Pro shop help is a joke and they will charge you if everybody in your group doesn’t show up no matter what
Downhill again
Course is in bad condition again too much over watering causing fairways to be muddy and sloppy. Roped off fairways make it hard to get around and the sand traps in bad shape. Staff is no help if you have any problems you are on your own
Restaurant
We waited 30 minutes for 2 sandwiches!

Overall ratings
The course was great. The restaurant was sad. It took almost an hour to get our 4 lunches. In the past it was good. But the cook is not good as he does not know how to cook very well.
