About
The Golf Club at Rio Vista is situated at the heart of northern California. With a scenic spot near the Sacramento River Delta, the course is even named after its scenic river view. The river delta meets rolling hills on this tough providing a unique setting equipped with distinctive water features. The skillfully crafted water holes are the trademarks of the design. The design mimics the natural lines carved by the river delta. The fairways are wide open but lengthy and generous greens can also be quite challenging as well. Rio Vista is a golf course that has appeal for players of all skill levels from novices to pros, whether it's the scenery or the diverse layout. Be careful on windy days though, the open course can be especially brutal.

Nice course
This is a nice layout with reconstruction on a few holes and a few Deep bunkers needing much repair. I feel things are getting done and I suspect by Sumner it should all be taken care of. It presents good challenges but is very fair - what you see is what you get. I enjoyed it despite the 1.5 hour ride from San Fran
First time experience
The course was in nice shape with lots of beatiful water features. The course had lots of elevation changes and strategically placed hazards. Very enjoyable time. Expect the Delta breeze to kick in, which can add to the challenge.

What a fun course
It continues to improve. Fun course. Fun layout. Greens were in pretty good shape. Fairways were excellent. Could have easier access to food at the turn. That would be nice. But pace of play (3.5 hour round),staff, and scenery is amazing! The view on 18th tee box an hour before sunset was great. Look forward to playing this course again.
No notice os plugged greens
The course is in surprisingly good shape. My only complaint is the front line was closed because they're sanding the greens and there is no notification anywhere prior to showing up.
The course is fun and looks good. Last time I played the course it didn’t look or play good. About 7 years ago. I will continue to come back if It stays in good condition. Cart was a little weak. First cut too long. Pro shop staff very nice. Bartender bit as much. Great community.
Improved
Doing a lot better these days. I’d play here again.
Revived course
The course has been bought out by the HOA and has improved drastically since the last time I played 7 years ago
I’ll be back for the price comparison to the Fairfield courses(overpriced and can’t get get early morning tee times even as app paid membership)
Course in good shape
The Course is beautiful and in pretty good condition.
They've come a long way.
This has always been. One of my favorite designs. Unfortunately this course, over the last decade, has been nothing more than a goat track.
Imagine my surprise playing today. Management has come LONG way in reclaiming this track. The greens were outstanding (though a little slow.) Tees were decent for mid winters. Fairways too. Previously there was 20% grass and 80 % dirt and scrub. Today was exactly opposite.
The course is still a little rough around the edges, but I can't wait to play it again in a few months
