This course is amazing

It’s definitely a challenge and a lesson in humility

Been playing there for years, best course in the area by far.

Course is in prestige shape, Fairways&greens are true and fast, bunkers with smooth deep sand. I’ve been playing there since 2003 and it’s gotten better with the new owners, hardest course in the area by far.

Low 90’s with a little breeze made the round greater for our round of golf that already started with a good note. Last week, we started our game with a little unpleasant situation when the young starter admonished me with a nonsense allegation regarding a other player. He should have asked me first what had happened to the situation but he , instead decided to excise his authority. That was quite unprofessional. But thankfully he apologized after I explained the whole situation. I accepted his apology. So when I went up to the pro shop, I somewhat had some lingering feeling about the last time and had some unexplainable concerns which is natural. There was no need for that because the pro shop staff greeted me, calling my name as soon as I walked in , as if he had been expecting and waiting for me.

Very well managed course conditions, fast and challenging greens, some fresh sand in bunkers made my game more enjoyable. Roaming friendly turkeys and deers were also good addition to our wonderful game day. Thanks again for your good job and the good service. Please keep it up.

Whitney Oaks Golf Course is a beautiful course. It is extremely challenging. I must get my game under control before I play it again. It tore me up.

Beautiful summer weather in the low. 90’s with the little breeze made our outing most enjoyable. Finished the game in 3.10 hours was very good with a couple of birdies. Clean fairways and the fast greens were my liking and it was reflected on my score. There was course alert saying that there might be shortage of the cart after ten but for our 11:50 starting time was not affected. Appreciated anyway for their courtesy. The starter was all excited due to his misunderstanding of our intentions. We needed a special provision for our disability but the starter was not at the first hole. Waited for 15 minutes and then we started thinking that it was okayed by the pro shop. On the third hole, the starter drove up and admonished us with lecture tones saying that we should not have said to the other player that we didn’t want to play with him. After he finished, I told him that the other player came to the third hole saying he was sorry for being late. I told him we were just waiting for the starter come and program our cart for disability and, since we are not going anywhere, he can go ahead playing for himself and catch up to the other solo player ahead of us or go back to the first hole and start over from there. Obviously he didn’t tell the starter the whole story other than just saying that I didn’t want to play with him. It wasn’t right. The starter immediately apologized for the misunderstanding and I accepted his apology. No matter what happened, we enjoyed the whole day so much today. Weather conditions get improved, we will definitely return the next couple of weeks. Thanks.

This track could easily command $150 per round, based solely on layout… especially from the tips. Unfortunately the course itself is perpetually shaggy, soggy l, and not tightly mowed. I did play on a Tuesday morning, so perhaps the fairways had yet to be attended to, but I found myself with penal lies in most fairways… ball sitting way down, awkward lies, and looking more like a primary rough lie, than a fairway. Can’t rate it any higher than a few stars, but will continue to play it based on the great value, and shot making test the layout presents.

Course was in great shape. The greens were fast and firm. I like the variety of holes the course offers. It is not just a back and forth every hole looks like the last course. If you don't play here often, this can be a tough course for the average golfer. Bring some extra balls and have fun. Pace of play was 3.5 hours. The ads in the cart GPS screen can be annoying. Definitely will play it again.

Always a challenge at Whitney Osks. Course in great shape, staff friendly, and pace of play acceptable! I would welcome the opportunity to play again.

This course is so difficult that the original owners should have sued the designer. To top it off, the conditions are below expectations for a nice public course of this caliber.

It’s been 15 years since last played and I only played the front nine due to heat and my poor health, but I still like the course and would recommend.

Many sand traps not raked with deer tracks and fairways with crab grass, but the layout is magnificent.

I play regularly and practice regularly on this course. It is clear that Thunder Valley, the owner, does NOT put enough money into this course to make it the topnotch course that it can be. The practice range has very poor quality balls, the ball machine is below par, the machine's hook to hold the basket has been broken for years. The club cleaning buckets are worn out and usually don't have enough water. The practice mats are not level.

One of the bridges to walk from the practice area to the putting green has been closed for years. At the top of the steps leading from the chipping area to the parking lot, an exposed hole from past repairs is still open after a year creating a severely dangerous safety concern.

The course is in average shape.

THE STAFF WORKS REALLY HARD AND DO THEIR BEST TO STAY UP WITH THE WORK, BUT THUNDER VALLEY DOES NOT PROVIDE THE SUPPORT NECESSARY TO MAKE THIS A VERY GOOD COURSE. NO EXCUSES THAT STAFF CAN'T BE HIRED. JUST PUT MORE MONEY INTO THE COURSE AND WATCH IT BECOME A REAL GEM FOR THE ENTIRE AREA.

One would be very hard pressed to find a more accommodating thoughtful staff. As a CountryClub member for ten years, never been treated better than Whitney.

Course demands thinking and accuracy , greens are Country Club quality .

Staff in Bar and Dining are the best, food is excellent and you get plenty of food.

It’s a depressing place, no one is happy there and the course is dying.
