About
Whitney Oaks Golf Club in Rocklin sits just half an hour from Sacramento but the stunning landscape blanketed with thousands of live oaks feels much more secluded. In addition to the trees, massive granite outcroppings accent the course. It is both a visually stunning and formidable championship layout. The diverse topography is the focus, providing many challenges with the elevation changes and towering trees that line the narrow fairways. The rolling topography helped to determine the placement of the bunkers. Wetlands come into play throughout the golf course, also serving as home to numerous varieties of indigenous wildlife. The golf course finishes with a tough hole, a long par 5 that is flanked by wetlands on both the left and right. Whitney Oaks G.C. also has a practice facility with a 15-station driving range, a putting green, and pitching area.

Fair but tough challenge
Whitney Oaks is a great challenge to any level golfer. It’ll fairly test all your shots. It’s in good shape and the greens are consistently smooth and not too fast.

Best Value EVER
If one judge a course by it’s staff, or food or real services you’re hard pressed to find something better.
As a former Country Club member for ten years, I’ve never been treated better, when it comes to consideration for playability, especially pace of play or Outstanding conditions that are consistently above Country Club norms, the Staff is remarkable…. Always have a smile to even the most difficult people.
The Course is a real thinking Man’s or ( women’s) challenge…and the greens and green keeping’s staff are some if not the Best in town. I must add to being a Proud member, player for six years. Play Well here….no course will outwit or surprise you.. Super Value !

Challenging
This course will challenge every phase of your game. I call it a target course. You have to hit your targets or you will be penalized. The greens are difficult to read. you should leave your driver in the bag on several holes. Course management is at a premium on this course. I dont recommend this course for a 15 index or above. it will eat your lunch. Bring extra balls if you still want to play.

Tough course
Excellent, friendly staff. Amenities are excellent. Course is definitely challenging. Course is involved in community events. I do loose to many golf balls here though- but that’s my fault.

Horrible condition
The absolute worst condition course I have played in years!! Just embarrassing! Something is going on. Have no plans on playing here again

Driving range is never set up for use on grass. Only allowed to use the old mats they have.

The course remains a very fair but challenging experience for better players. Not for beginners!

Excellent course and good weather but SLOW round
I golf at Whitney Oaks at least a half a dozen times a year; in my opinion it might be the toughest public course in the Sacramento area. It’s a good layout and it’s relatively fair. Typically would give it five stars but the two foursomes in front of us were exceedingly slow and it took us about 5 1/2 hours to finish. Otherwise course was in good condition and it would’ve been an enjoyable round.
