About
Whitney Oaks Golf Club in Rocklin sits just half an hour from Sacramento but the stunning landscape blanketed with thousands of live oaks feels much more secluded. In addition to the trees, massive granite outcroppings accent the course. It is both a visually stunning and formidable championship layout. The diverse topography is the focus, providing many challenges with the elevation changes and towering trees that line the narrow fairways. The rolling topography helped to determine the placement of the bunkers. Wetlands come into play throughout the golf course, also serving as home to numerous varieties of indigenous wildlife. The golf course finishes with a tough hole, a long par 5 that is flanked by wetlands on both the left and right. Whitney Oaks G.C. also has a practice facility with a 15-station driving range, a putting green, and pitching area.

Difficult but nice.
IS a challenge course but is fun it make you think twice before hit your next shoot. I really enjoy it.

Tough course
Especially when the wind is blowing so strong you can see a straight flight path turn right angle.
Overall it’s a nice course and I recommend it. Be warned of greens insulations of which there are many.

The course fairway were very dry, need to throw some water. Greens were fine.

Good Value, greens are great
The course is a little brown in the fairways due to the Bermuda grass so the fairways are tight but I would recommend playing. Lots of roll so take that into considerations before hitting every drive as there are slopes towards hazards

Get some course knowledge.
A good track with friendly staff. The course itself is a beautiful setting, but bring plenty of ammo if your playing it for the 1st time. Blind shots, grassy bogs, unforgiving bramble bushes and undulating greens make this a challenging course to those without the skill set to play target golf, like me. I will be back for a rematch with Whitney Oaks as soon as I build my confidence back.

Play humble
The course starts out with a straightforward par 4 with a hill to the right that helps bring that first swing back into play. The greens were firm, fast and rolling true. The layout offers challenging shot selection and driver is not always the play off of the tee. Early year play is always met with its own challenges. We had to keep the carts on the path until the frost melted, but did not have a delay. They make a really good Bloody Mary here. I had a hawk watching me at the driving range.

Slow play
Course is well designed, very challenging and will test most players! But the 2 walkers in front of us held of play. But overall a great and fun course.

Very challenging course. You need to play it few times to truly appreciate the layout. If it's your first time bring extra balls as there's no margin for error.
