About
Whitney Oaks Golf Club in Rocklin sits just half an hour from Sacramento but the stunning landscape blanketed with thousands of live oaks feels much more secluded. In addition to the trees, massive granite outcroppings accent the course. It is both a visually stunning and formidable championship layout. The diverse topography is the focus, providing many challenges with the elevation changes and towering trees that line the narrow fairways. The rolling topography helped to determine the placement of the bunkers. Wetlands come into play throughout the golf course, also serving as home to numerous varieties of indigenous wildlife. The golf course finishes with a tough hole, a long par 5 that is flanked by wetlands on both the left and right. Whitney Oaks G.C. also has a practice facility with a 15-station driving range, a putting green, and pitching area.

Excellent Winter Golf
Picked the perfect day for golf today. Cool; but the pace of play and course conditions (for winter) - especially the excellent greens, made for a great round. We were able to get off early finishing in under 4 hours. Thanks to the groundskeepers and the starter.

Whitney Oaks
The fairways are almost bare with the Bermuda grass dormant and the cold, wet conditions. It was still a good value.

Whitney Oaks is an exceptional golf course. A Johnny Miller designed course that presents interesting challenges for golfers of all levels. Cleary it's one of the best courses in the region!

The Punisher
I absolutely love this course, it is the toughest track in the area. I always allow myself a lengthy warm up at the outstanding short game practice area. Be prepared and try not to be a hero when you get into trouble here or you will be punished, often lavishly. Go to Texas..

Affordable, beautiful, very challenging course
I absolutely love this course. Very very challenging course. Sometimes I wish the pin placement was easier especially with the harder holes.

3.5 hours to play the front 9 holes. No Marshall’s present! Sad!

Course is in good shape and greens are tricky .Take time to practice the greens are fast and if you see a break its there.Play was a little slow but great weather .

Hard, Really Hard
Super challenging course, especially first time around. Pretty disappointed with course conditions, tee boxes and fairways were pretty reached and lots of dry dead fairways.

How Can You Do This?
Want a course in perfect condition this time of year? Whitney Oaks is it. Greens are amazing - fast and in perfect condition. Fairways wonderful to play from (wish I was on more of them). T-boxes almost all excellent. Well done, grounds crew! Keep it up. We'll be back.

Good Value and a strong test of your game
Greens in very good condition, fairways well maintained, overall good value for your dollars. Only con was the condition of the bunkers -- they needed deep tining to break up compacted sand. I guess the answer is... don't hit it the bunker!! Go play it and enjoy your round.

This course is in great shape right now
Greens are super fast and don’t hold much. Fairways lush and green. If you haven’t played this course before expect a long round. This place requires some course knowledge in order to score. Lots of holes could be rated as #1 handicap and you wouldn’t blink because they are so tough.

Challenging
Fun course, was a little dry. Greens were fast. Look for the wedge in the trees near the green bunkers on 15.
