About
Whitney Oaks Golf Club in Rocklin sits just half an hour from Sacramento but the stunning landscape blanketed with thousands of live oaks feels much more secluded. In addition to the trees, massive granite outcroppings accent the course. It is both a visually stunning and formidable championship layout. The diverse topography is the focus, providing many challenges with the elevation changes and towering trees that line the narrow fairways. The rolling topography helped to determine the placement of the bunkers. Wetlands come into play throughout the golf course, also serving as home to numerous varieties of indigenous wildlife. The golf course finishes with a tough hole, a long par 5 that is flanked by wetlands on both the left and right. Whitney Oaks G.C. also has a practice facility with a 15-station driving range, a putting green, and pitching area.

Greens!
Course was set up tough today. Never seen pin placements so hard here. I loved the challenge. If you had a downhill putt, forget about it. I did four putt number 16, left myself on the wrong end of the green,,,,I haven’t had a four putt in 15 years,,,,,loved it, thank you!!

5th game here. Really enjoy the challenge.
5th game since I moved here 8 months ago. Really enjoy this course for it's beauty, elevation changes. But be aware that this course is difficult. Many very narrow fairways. Blind tee shots, can't even see the fairway from the tips. Unless you are a consistent straight hitter with a 5 or lower handicap be prepared to loose at least 4 balls. But then again if you wander into the bushes looking for your ball you'll probably find more than lose. I came home yesterday with 15 more balls. Ridiculously difficult putting greens. Lightening fast, rolley polley surfaces. Not a single green with a straight putt.
Nice employees. Decent restaurant and bar. Worth the 35 minute drive from Sacramento.
Bang for your buck!
Can’t find a better course for the price in the area. I’m a member at Winchester and I love to play Whitney. Consistent good conditions and a tough course!
Tough but fun course. Great value
Always love playing this course, even thought it’s more challenging than most courses in the area. The fairways and greens are in great shape. And for the price, can’t beat it.

Hilly, challenging, fun.
Whitney will test your skill. Narrow fairways. Lots of hills. Roller coaster greens. If golf can frustrate or anger you do Not play here. You need to temper the humiliation with a healthy sense of humor. I really like Whitney but I enjoy torture.
Unforgiving course, fast greens

My new favorite Placer county golf course
Moved to Roseville 8 months ago. Have played 10 different golf courses within 30 miles of my house. Whitney Oaks has become my favorite. Challenging to the point that some holes from the tips are ridiculously difficult to keep the ball in the fairway from the tee box. Indeed, one can't see the fairway from some tee boxes. Just let it rip and hope for the best. If you are a 1st time visitor be sure to be paired with a local / member so they can guide you.

Great round. Beautiful course
Really enjoyed my round at Whitney Oaks. It had been 12 or so years since my last visit. I have to say the course has matured nicely. Trees are bigger than they used to be. Conditions were pretty excellent too
