Whitney Oaks Golf Club
About
Whitney Oaks Golf Club in Rocklin sits just half an hour from Sacramento but the stunning landscape blanketed with thousands of live oaks feels much more secluded. In addition to the trees, massive granite outcroppings accent the course. It is both a visually stunning and formidable championship layout. The diverse topography is the focus, providing many challenges with the elevation changes and towering trees that line the narrow fairways. The rolling topography helped to determine the placement of the bunkers. Wetlands come into play throughout the golf course, also serving as home to numerous varieties of indigenous wildlife. The golf course finishes with a tough hole, a long par 5 that is flanked by wetlands on both the left and right. Whitney Oaks G.C. also has a practice facility with a 15-station driving range, a putting green, and pitching area.

Great round. Beautiful course
Really enjoyed my round at Whitney Oaks. It had been 12 or so years since my last visit. I have to say the course has matured nicely. Trees are bigger than they used to be. Conditions were pretty excellent too
Great track awesome condition
This track whether sun or rain is fun to play and always challenging. The front 9 is mostly parkland style and the back nine tightens up alot to make it even more difficult.
Target golf
This is a tight layout that requires the utmost accuracy before distance. Thinking is mandatory to set up next shots. Greens and fairways were good, tee boxes not so much. This track is demanding and an interesting layout - especially the back nine. Bring your A game.
Disappointed
Have played this course many times in the past. Has always been excellent. This round found the fairway’s in really rough shape as well as the fringe. The rough areas were in poor shape did not seem to have had much maintenance at all. I hope this was due to the extreme heat waves we had this summer. I will try to get out again in late fall and review again.
Good shape
I thought the greens were very good and the course is in really solid shape overall.
Very fun and challenging course.
Really enjoy playing Whitney Oaks. Great layout with lots of challenging design elements.
It was late summer so the heat of the area has had some impact on conditioning, especially on the greens, but nothing that really took away from the experience.
Definitiely worth visiting if you haven't played there.
Great Day!
I booked a 4some and everyone likes the course, we have played here a few times. The course is in great shape compared to other local courses, the greens are running between 9 or 10 on the stimp meter. We had a good pace of play and only had to wait to hit about a half a dozen times. It was relatively warm (90ish) and we never saw any drink cart which is unusual, other then that it was a great day!
Bad greens
Bunkers in bad shape, no sand, about one half of the green’s were bumpy, bald spots.
Greeeeeeens!
I’ve played here off and on over the years. When it first opened this track was one of my favorites in the area. As the course has matured tee to green it grown in character. Unfortunately so have the greens, not in a good way. They seem so compacted and difficult. I have no issues with fast or difficult greens but some are so ridiculous, pin placements in US Open positions, on crests, hiding in corners. Realistically I’m older as well and we’ve both aged in areas that aren’t flattering haha but come one on you could fix these issues. lol. The course has passed me by, I’m a weekend golfer till I retire, and I want to enjoy my outing not grind over every shot my, putt like my life depends on it. Whitney and Twelve Bridges/ now Catta Vedera were my go to, TB is now private and the new owners of Whitney obviously don’t want to spend money to trim some trees that need help and greens that are desperately looking for some fillers/ Botox and lipstick.
I’ll stick to a. Purse that fits my game.
