Woodcreek getting better
Greens were in really good condition and fast, which I like as they were smooth. However you could be in the fairway and be in dirt as they had patches where there was no grass or patches of grass and dirt. That’s ok in the rough but in the fairway that’s tough.
Odd course
This wasn’t the first time I played Woodcreek, and it certainly wasn’t my first choice. We decided to play here as it was the only course that had a tee time that worked for us.
I remembered there were a few strange holes, but forgotten just how bad they were - especially the oddly-constructed par 5, 5th. Add to that the course condition with very patchy fairways and poorly maintained bunkers. At least the greens rolled fairly well, given they have been punched a couple of weeks ago.
Unless there are no other alternatives, I doubt I’ll be playing here again.
WoodCreek
Price was fantastic! For $34 you received a 20 ball warm up bucket and a $5 food coupon wow!!! Pace of play for my group was 5 hours but considering the value you got well worth it. I’ll be back soon.
Where are the groundskeepers?
Where are the groundskeepers? I haven’t played here in a while now I remember why. Sand traps full of grass, uneven tea boxes with big divots or should I say bare dirt holes. Both owned and operated by the city of Roseville diamond oaks far better condition. Won’t play here again no matter the price.
Challenging course
Blue tees closed due to aeration. Hole #11 all tees at 210 yds down left, or group had eagle put.
In transition, has gotten worse
The golf course was played after a couple days of rain, so the greens and fairways had not been mowed for several days. The greens were quite slow. The fairways were wet and sloppy. But even if the course is dry, the overall condition of the course is rough. It has seen better days. Lots of patchy areas with either dried hardpan areas, or too much water accumulation and long grass in low areas of the course.
Great layout
Fairways are open, few fierce carries of tee. Green side bunkers are dirt
Front 9 closed
We arrived to find the driving range closed, and the front 9 closed for aeration, with instructions to play the back 9 twice. This should have disclosed in advance.
course needs work
I really want to like this course, but i can't. Not an easy course, and I like that,. But the course conditions are horrible. They need a new grounds keeper, for there are a lot of bare patches on the fairways and greens. Also, they over water the fairways and greens, for it was like a swamp out there. I have never plugged so many balls, during summer play.
Fairways are in pretty rough shape, with lots of bare earth patches. Greens are generally good.. some of the bunkers look like they haven’t been maintained in many weeks.
Excellent Greens; Fairways improved
Considering hot summer temperatures in the 100's, the greens are green, roll true, and consistent. Not fast greens, but due to potential summer burning, green speed is quite adequate considering the severe slopes on the greens. The fairways are much improved from several months ago (April). It's apparent course management is spending time and money to keep the course in very good shape and competitive with surrounding golf courses.
