Course conditions were terrible!!!
In drought year we saw standing water in many sand traps, mud in fairways, and over all conditions were terrible.
I will not return till conditions improve greatly!!!!
The Course Needs An Overhaul
The course at WoodCreek has seen much better days. Lots of areas that need attention and grooming. The 9th and 18th greens have plenty of geese droppings. Bunkers are very hard conditions- it’s just very hard dirt. The approach on hole number 4 - par 5 has spots that have been over watered and has become a mud path.
Overall, it’s playable but I would not play at a regular price point or normal rate. The greens were recently punched and top layered. Hence, we booked the tee time as a “Hot Deal”.
I hope they can restore the course to better conditions.
Worst condition of any course in area
I feel bad that Woodcreek continues to just get worse every time I play it. I think I am going to to stop coming back even though it’s one of the closest to me. Living in Roseville it is sad that the City can’t put any effort into keeping this course in better shape. Patchy fairways, soggy over watered boggy areas, tee boxes that are an embarrassment, cement sand traps, and battlefield greens. Don’t waste your money
Worn down and in need of some love.
The course seems to be mismanaged. Lots of dead grass or no grass areas that impact play. Bunkers are a major level of suck and unplayable. Course feels old and worn out, almost a lack of what makes good courses stand out (grass, greens, tee boxes and Bunkers all poorly maintained. Many trees that used to make this course more challenging are gone. Not my first choice of courses as for the price others are in better condition.
Nice Greens--Fairways a little rough
Late summer course conditions at Woodcreek. With the drought in this area, fairway conditions are a little rough in some places. Also, morning watering in low areas has accumulated water that can be "mushy" in some areas. But putting greens are in excellent condition. Still a fun, challenging course worth playing.
Disappointed
I’m giving the course 2 stars because the range and practice greens are in decent condition and the pro shop people are nice. As for the rest of everything. It is terrible. First off, the bunkers have no sand in them, just hard pan. Second, the fairways are ridiculously dry and some spots are just soaking wet/muddy. Third, the old Asian lady inside of the bar/restaurant, is a thief. She literally rang up a beverage I purchased as something else so she could pocket the extra money as a tip I suppose. Other than that, the pro shop staff are very friendly and it’s well stocked. The greens are in decent condition, ( a dry spot here and there.) The people you may meet here are nice, but I would not recommend this course until the city of roseville steps their course management to get this course in a better condition. The positive side is, they give you a coupon for a free appetizer when you buy a green fee which is nice. Now as for the practice facility, I’d recommend coming to practice for that. Anyways, I hope this review may help some people and the city of roseville to get their stuff together. This course really is a decent place when in good conditions. Just disappointed this time. Thanks for reading!
Great deal for the hot weekend
Fairways were dry but over watering in some muddy spots...bad for our drought.
Pace of play was ok. Kept moving which is above average on the weekend.
Greens were in good shape.
Been playing here for years and always find new challenges.
Golf challenge
No sand in bunkers only hard sirt.
Nice greens. Tee to green a little worn
Hot August summers and so much more play from Covid-19 have made Woodcreek looking worn out from tee to green. Still a fun, challenging course to play. Just play winter rules in many spots. Due to the summer heat, maintenance have to keep the turf wet in the morning. But lower parts of the fairway and around the lower part around the greens can accumulate excess water making tire marks. Greens are in excellent condition though.
Overpriced
Lots of issues with huge areas of dead grass in the fairways and rough all over the course. Greens are average at best. Would be fine if they either had better course conditions and charge same price OR lowered their prices. I’m sure neither will happen.
Overpriced :(
Trying to give this place a chance but just way over priced. $52 for dirt fairways.. bad beat.
The grass is green thats all it has to offer
Over watered, need i say more. Standing water in the fairways, sand traps are more like ponds, even when there is no standing water in the trap its so wet thay are hard pack. We actually saw ducks swimming in the green side bunkers on the 18 green. Muddy and soaking wet. Dont know if I will play here again with so many other courses in the area.
On a personal note the staff in the dinning area are great friendly people. And staff in The pro shop seam like thay have better things to do then help out.
