Golfer Reviews
Would play agian
Wide open course, short holes due to tee box maintainence, fairly easy
Very enjoyable course to play at.
A few of the holes has some blind tee shots which makes things challenging in a good way. Greens were a little bumpy though as my ball hopped on a few putts. The beverage cart lady only drove by once on the second hole. She said she would come by us again but didn't.
But all in all the course was in good shape and the pace of play moved right along. Had a good time playing my round.
needs maintenance
Half the tee boxes were under repair, good thing in the long run. Summer in Roseville demands a great irrigation system, this doesn't have that, dry and wet. Greens were very moist but OK. Surrounded by low-middle class track homes. Rather play Cherry Island... Couldn't get much ice out of the counter or the cart girl for my beers for some reason, and it was 100° that day.
Great course excellent shop will be back to golf again.
This course was in great condition coming from a beginner golfer none of the holes were too intimidating. Huge course compared to what i normally play but enjoyed it all together. Can't wait to come back and play again.
Need a marshall!
Pretty annoying having to deal with the annual membership folks. Jumping from hole to hole with no regard to the folks that are actually playing the course the way it was intended. They think they own the course and are the only reason why I will not play anytime in the near future.
Forgiving fairways, but tough hazards and wet bunkers
All in all, a good day of golf with some new friends on the course.
Pros: clean fairways, consistent greens, good for someone who wants to dial in their game, tougher than neighboring Diamond Oaks
Cons: powder turf on fairway resulted in challenging approach shots because of unpredictable quality of grounds (firm and dry on face, but sand underneath, wet green bunkers even at 1pm
home course, above average condition for the heat. upper 90's low 100's
it temps you at times. trust your gut and don't always go for it
Timing is Everything
I've reviewed Woodcreek previously unfavorably. Typically the cost and time required to play Woodcreek are not good. If you get a deal on Golfnow, and play during non peak times, it can be a good course. To make Woodcreek fun and a value, pay no more than $30, and play when temp is over 90, or when it is raining. Otherwise you are paying $50 bucks for a 5+ hour round filled with fivesomes full of etiquetteless hacks, who play from the gold tees, take 2 mulligans a hole and still shoot 120.
Great bang for your buck!
The weekday power hour deal for $30 with a cart is well worth it. Get out early and beat the crowds and the heat. Course is in very good shape for a muni course.
Nice course
It is my favorite course in the Sacramento area. It is well maintained and a lot of fun to play. I won't be playing again there anytime soon though because there are many friendlier staff members elsewhere that seem to value customer service. There is 1 gentleman there that is friendly, unfortunately I don't know his name. I have had more negative experience with staff there than positive. I'll take my three or four games a week elsewhere for now.
Nice for the Price
Woodcreek for $30 on a Saturday afternoon is a great value.
Coures is always overbooked!
I have played at Woodcreek Golf course for years and always have the same problem. VERY slow play. The tee time scheduling is way to close together. Makes for a long slow day of golf. (does not matter the time of day 5am-7pm) Just Slow and crowded!
Great Tuesday for Golf
Fun day playing golf. Not too busy and the staff was very friendly.
Nice mix of valley oaks and water hazards.
Nice mix of water and oak trees to make shot placement a priority. Greens were in good shape as well.
A nice layout - a busy course.
This course has a nice layout and gets lots of play( our round was 5 hours - but it was Father's Day)
You can score pretty well just by keeping the ball in play and sinking a few putts.
Nice course - play it on an early weekday or late afternoon and your pace may improve.
good value
could use some water, greens were good, pace was great and staff as well
