Great staff
Tee off right on time, greens in great shape and finished within 4 1:4 hours on a Sunday. Great course management!
A hidden Gem
I played the South course. The first few holes need ground keeper's attention. I thought I was playing National City GC. It was that bad. Then after that, I felt I was playing Aviara GC. It was beautiful.
The Course is very forgiving. Missed shot? you're good.
You need to play smart golf here. No need to bring your big stick in every hole.
Since it's a military course, the pace of playing is very good. Everyone is keeping up the people in front of them.
Overall, it was a fun game. 4.5 star!
One of the survey question if I would refer this course to a friend.
my answer is of course. But I won't. I'll keep it to myself and perhaps you know why.
Good playing!
Fun Course
The course was a fun course for the money. It wasn’t very difficult but had enough par 5’s that you got to hit a few clubs. The fairways and tee box condition was a little suspect but I really liked the green’s conditioning. I would play the course again. We had a good time.
Beautiful San Diego day
Perfect weather. Nobody in front or behind. A bit unusual.
Slow play ruins golf for everyone!!!
We were a twosome and let a single join us on #4. As We finished front nine in 1hr 45 min. From 10 on we were behind 2 guys using the course as their personal driving range, hitting 2-3 shots each time. On every hole they would wait for the green to clear before hitting...after 160 yard drive, chances of hitting 200 plus never happened. I approached them as said if you wanted to hit extra shots let us play thru. No he said they had to wait every shot and we hit him to them on several holes. He was not happy and some words that he wouldn't use in front of his mother. I told his place on the course was behind the group in front of him. He was not having any of it and let out a few more poetic phrases. They did speed up but none of this should've happened. I occasionally see a MARSHALL but never see any interactions with players. 2hrs 45 mins later wr walked off 18.

Awesome value for your money
Played the north course. Weather was great and the course was nice. Greens were fast! $35 for the round was definitely well worth the money. If I come back here I will play here again.
Worst Course I've played....
I ended up playing this course because it was centrally located and I friend told me it was a good "value" course. I booked it on Golfnow for a supposed "hot deal" for $45 but I wouldn't have paid more than $20. The course was on horrible shape and you can tell it wasn't just a one-off. The fairways weren't really fairways with ground under repair everywhere. The greens were decent but very bumpy. On a positive note it's pretty wide open so it's easier and the food at the club house was good.
I was told the North course is much better but I don't think I'm going to take the risk...I could have played Steele Canyon for $20 more which is a 10 times better course.
2nd time in less than a week.
Admiral Baker North or South is a great value fo price. The staff is very friendly and their easy to work with. A must play in SD county.
Great value
Starting with a great experience in the pro shop with a well trained and delightful staff
Started on time as scheduled and the pace of play was just under 4 hrs. The greens had been recently punched but were ok for the expected outcome. Would always recommend Admiral Baker.
Aeration just done.
We played the back nine twice, as aeration was in progress. Greens were, therefore, not in good condition, but the course is always fun.
So Sad
I've played Admiral Baker several times in the past and it was so sad to see how they have allowed the fairways to deteriorate. The turf is now a mixture of different grasses and weeds and there are numerous large bare patches. In many places the rough is actually more playable than the fairway. It looks like the entire course needs to be replanted. However, the greens are still pretty good -- give them 4 stars.
