Course looks great
The only issues was the rough was pretty rough. Difficult to find your ball in the rough
Labor Day Fun
Nice course to play early morning. Lots of wild life makes it very peaceful low stress golf.
Good time for not much money.
First game that I've played so you can take that for what its worth. I played on Oakmont East at about 1030am Sunday morning. After I calmed down I really enjoyed the course. I'd say my only drawback as a newb was having the houses closeby, which more experienced players might not stress about. HOWEVER, I'd say that's the only issue. Friendly customer service. Good course.
Challenging, but not difficult course
Several long par 3 holes make it fun. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Not a long course.
none
course is not in good shape. Hole cut poorly. Sometimes crowded with slow playing hackers
First time playing...
The East Course was a surprise to me finding out it was an 18 hole executive. For the price it was a pretty solid place! The par 3's were nice mid to long shots and the par 4's were nice because you don't just bang a driver and chip up. Course management was used as well as shot shaping/control was needed. If ever I'm up in that area again I'll play it! I need to play the West Course first though!
Oakmont East
Good place to practice your irons. First there greens bumpy and sandy but after that not so bad. Rough is good and sand is clay. Gotta love the Oakmont rough spots through out both courses. Pretty good for fun and little time.
Not much fun to play
I didn't care for this course its to short and houses are to close and I wasn't informed that the greens were punched and had to play the front 9 twice cause the back 9 was closed I will not be coming back anytime soon
Good Executive Length course
Course was cart path only, due to rain the day before so there were several wet areas on the course, but it still played well. Lots of chances to use your driver, and then a short iron, fun course to play.
Good Times
Played the East and it was a fun executive track. Great way to polish up the short game.
Oakmont East
Nice little course . You can use all the clubs .Usually 3 hour round. Played in hard rain ,had to quit after 13 holes .Very scenic in the west end of the "Valley of the Moon"
Oakmont's East Golf Course
Was able to play alone and practice because course was not busy. A sunny, beautiful day.
Oakmont
Course is still a litle beat up after construction / sprinkler updates.
Greens were in nice shape.
Pace of play varies depending on who is in front of you.
Fun course to practice on but a little overpriced for the conditions.
great executive course
Course was in decent shape considering the way the weather has been.
Player friendly facility
Course is coming together after major irrigation overhaul. Good value!
Great for a quick 18
Nice course that plays fast. No par 5s. Friendly staff. Walking beats taking a cart.
UNDER REPAIR
The course is under repair. As I understand it they are installing new water lines and sprinklers. In light of this there are 4 holes that are closed down. As they install new line and sprinklers they will close some and open others. Wherever they made a repair, there is no grass growing so the course looks like a moonscape. The greens are in so-so shape too (maybe because of all the construction and construction workers. I would suggest you find somewhere else to play during this construction period.
The West course, as I hear, is in the same shape as this course.Call ahead to see how many holes are closed before making a tee time.
Very poor condition due to maintenance
The Course is under heavy maintenance right now. It was not listed on the website as such. 2 of the holes are closed so they are trying to combine 2 other holes to still make it 18. They are going through replacing all the irrigation on the course so they are not really keeping up with the rest of the course and watering it. If you just want to get loose and hit the ball around a bit it's worth the $10 dollar fire deal but if you pay any more than that then you are wasting your money.
Don't hit into the sand... or what is supposed to be sand!
I can't believe the reviews that say this course is well-maintained. It is NOT in good shape and there is irrigation construction going on everywhere (they had 1 hole completely shut down and another just opened as we got there with sand all over the green). The greens are coming out of aeration and are OK, but the SAND TRAPS ARE HORRIBLE. There is maybe 1/4" of sand before you hit hardpan. I can't believe how many times I had severe trouble coming out of the traps. I suggest that you pick it clean... even on greenside bunkers. Long par 3's (many are 200 yards or thereabouts) and short par 4's. Know what you get before you go... and don't believe the "course is well-maintained" reviews!
Great experience
The course is in great shape. and the putting green were (true) fast.
