About
Located just 20 minutes from downtown in the Forest Hills section of Tampa, Babe Zaharias Golf Course meanders through a tree-lined residential neighborhood. The golf course measures a modest 6,020 yards, but should not be taken lightly. Although both nines on "The Babe" are par 35, the back side sports four par-4 holes in excess of 400 yards, providing a challenge for golfers of all skill levels.

The Babe.
I like the course. It's an old school layout, playable for all levels. It's a munie, not a CC. Still gotta hit shots.
1st time playing
Overall a decent course. The fairways are pretty beat up in some places but the tees and greens were OK
Challenging course
Course was challenging. Greens were OK. Fairways were very dry and need work.
TYpical Florida public course golf
This course is a little short, even from the back (Black) tees, although there are a couple of 400 yard par 4's.
Being a "Yankee" I find that there is little or no actual GRASS on the course. Even where there is green shaggy stuff, it will not support the weight of the ball, so you are basically hitting all of your irons off of dirt. The upside is that balls tend to roll out further, and if you choose to do so, you can putt from ten feet off the green, and the ball will travel just about as far as if you were putting from the putting surface up North. There is no reason to try to hit short chip shots off this hard dirt; just putt it.
Great Challenging Layout
Love this course. I’ve played 3 times in two weeks because it’s a good value for your money. No slow play and fun layout. The staff is super friendly, helpful and polite. A must play.
Nice place
Nice place, good lay out.
Bar was closed when we finished up. Kinda surprised by that on a Saturday.
Great Municipal Course
Course and especially greens were in very good shape. This is a great municipal course. They had new carts with bucket seats - which I like. Staff were very friendly including the starter. Busy n Saturdays but that’s to be expected.
Good rolling greens
Greens are in good shape, need to overseer the fairways.
I'll be back
Very nice. Met a new friend. Enjoyed the round. Slow foursome ahead of us. Finished 18 in five hours a dusk.
The Babe
Good city course and you’re going to get exactly what you pay for. Don’t expect this to be anywhere near a great golf course but the course is fun and the greens are usually in good condition.
Great round
Booked the round online since i was going to be in the area. As a Babe fan i HAD to play the course. The staff inside and the starter were both friendly. Wish i would have had some time to talk with the starter as she sounded like she had some great stories from the past. The course is nestled in an older neighborhood and the lay out was great. There were some challenging holes and i enjoyed the round. Will definitely look to play the course again when i am in the area.
