About
Rocky Point Golf Course has one of the most interesting histories of any golf course in Florida. Originally opened in 1911 under the name f the Tampa Automobile Club, it was one of the first courses in the state. It closed in 1942 due to World War II. After being turned over to the city of Tampa for a mere $1, it reopened in 1954 as Rocky Point Golf Course. It is the closest golf course to Tampa International Airport, only a 15-minute drive away. The layout provides a fair challenge water hazards coming into play on 11 holes and sand bunkers strategically placed throughout. Rocky Point Golf Course's lakes are home to an abundance of wildlife and also serves as a bird sanctuary.

Great value for the money
The course was well kept and had great greens. Played with new and experienced golfers and everyone enjoyed the round. We found $35 to be an amazing weekday hot deal for an 18 hole round.
All the stuff was excellent the bar the service there was great same with the cart girl and check in at the counter at the golf shop. I actually have my best friend of the year having never played that course before.
Great golf course
Course was in great shape. Finished in less than 4 hours on a beautiful Saturday morning.
Good day
The Greens were in very good shape and most of the fairways are in very good shape also. Some of the tee boxes have sand and fertilizer on them right now so I can’t complain. But overall I would play there anytime. 2 thumbs up
Great Value
Great Muni course. Greens and fairways were very well kept. Would definitely go back considering it was $35 dollars per person including a cart. Food was great and barely any waiting on the tee box.
Last minute round
I needed a round to loosen up before a local
Outing. Staff was friendly and courteous. Got out early. Course was in good shape. Greens a little on the slow side. Played 18 in just over 3 hours. A great value, for a last minute warm up round. Close to the airport hotel and easy to find. I’ll play here again next time I’m in town.
Great public course
Great public course with good maintenance and nice staff.
greens were kept nice, but nothing else. not worth $65.
