Countryway Golf Club

About
Countryway Golf Club is an executive golf course that is known for its extremely affordable rates. Situated in the heart of Westchase, it is considered one of the best values in Tampa Bay. The layout consists of eleven par-3 holes and seven par 4s. The golf course is challenging enough for more advanced golfers but it is still player-friendly enough for beginners to enjoy. The rolling terrain provides undulations in both the greens and fairways. The hills also make for some challenging putts. There is no shortage of water at Countryway Golf Club with hazards coming into play on 14 holes. There are also bunkers strategically placed throughout.

Great value for your money.
Fun corse the weekends can be crowded and get a little slow, but all clubs are this way on the weekend.
Small but effective
Good course to work on short game. Course needs some time and it is getting better.
Good value
Most Florida golf courses lower their rates for the summer when the Snowbirds go home but that is a thing of the past. Fortunately, Countryway is the exception and does not try to rip golfers off.

Overall, the course is getting better as they work on the greens
Poor condition
One of the worst courses I’ve played the greens had a half inch of sand on them. You might as well be playing out of a bunker. The fairways hadn’t been mowed in a week so no matter where you landed you were always playing in the rough the starter was a great older man very friendly very accommodating. Some of the other people that work there need to take a class in customer relations.
Country Way
This hidden gem is so nice to play. They are always very busy, but the ranger keeps the play moving along. Under construction right now but they are making improvements to the course.
The greens are unplayable.
I have played this course a hand full of times over the last year so today was a real surprise. To say the greens are bad would be an understatement, they are horrible. My title says unplayable, but what I mean is there is no reason to waste your time setting up a put. As your ball rolls over the dirt and around what little grass there is, you cannot keep it on line. Thankfully they are redoing several at this time. Interestingly enough, the temporary greens used on the holes that are being re-done are much better than the permanant greens not being done at this time. To lose the greens as they have is a sad mistake. I won't be playing this course again anytime soon.
