This course is designed for the player that does not care about score.
The worst greens I've played all year. Rocky point is the last resort if you can't get a tee time else were. This course is ten min. from my home and I don't want to play it. Greens are always bad, slow and hairy. NOT FUN.
Terrible condition of range.
Horrible tee boxes, greens. Grass was like my lawn at home. Good job cutting debris away for visual ability purposes, but it was a glorified cow pasture.
It's a average course
If you can get on the course for a really low rate then it is worth it. The fairways are a little rough and so are the T-boxes but the greens are in decent shape. Everyone on the staff are very friendly and helpful, but they do need rangers on the course as sometimes play is extremely slow. I have passed this course at 6am in the morning and have seen the grounds crew out there, so they do try to maintain the course.
great course
Great course. Little slow Friday (not normal for here)· Ranger on front nine but needed one on the Bach where it got real slow. Greens were in great shape and f as fairways were good.
Good hidden gem
This course was a nice surprise. I was not expecting much for a muni but this course was enjoyable to play. Fairways and greens were in good condition. The tee area of the driving range needs some care. Pace was good. Will be back.
Great course, great location!
The course was in great shape. The course layout has a great mix of challenging and fun holes. The greens were fast and in great shape. The 18th green was the only one on the course that was in poor condition due to the cold but it didn't take away from the experience. The club staff were very courteous and friendly. I've played the course several times and the greens fees are very reasonable. I would recommend it for players of all skill levels!
cheap n' cheerful
Good value for $$. Pro shop and starter very friendly. Some variations from hole to hole, nice layout, back 9 more challenging, some nice holes. Worth playing for average golfer.
Nice course a little tight in places in average condition.
Course is in good shape, course is squeezed in fairly tight so would be a good walking and also demands accurate shot placement to not play on the wrong fairway. Well worth the money and as a city course is well maintained.
Good value for the money
This was our very first time at this course. It had been recommended by a friend. The course was in great shape, and we enjoyed ourselves. We will return.

Overbooked
used golfnow to book a tee time. players were stacked up like cord wood - obviously over-booked. three hours for the front nine and then 2 1/2 hours for the back. i've played here many times in the past and never was it this slow. not a good policy to jam as many people on the course as possible if you want any of them to return the next week.
Can't beat the price
For $20. You can't go wrong and that included the cart. If you are flying in and out of Tampa and want to get a quick round in this is the place.
Good municipal course
Starts out easy, with wide open fairways, but turns mean with all the water. Pretty flat, no real elevation changes, but good challenge for the average or high handicap golfer.
Disappointed
The day started in a bad way inside the pro shop. The gentleman working the counter was slow and rude. We had a tee time for two and we needed to add a third. The gentleman insisted we could not add a third because the tee time was booked and it would back the starter up. When questioned reference all tee times having a 7 minute seperation no matter if there are 1-4 players, he looked at us like we were stupid. We finally got with the starter, who cleared everything up and we were on our way. The course was in average condition, compared to other courses in the area and is very forgiving. Not sure if we woulld go back.
Similar to Sun 'n Lake Turtle Run course, Plantations @ Leesburg Otter Creek course, Lake Orlando GC.
11:15 Tee time w/ buddy. Decent price through different web site. Tough tree lined course almost similar to municipal course. Tough, gimmicky layout. Number of holes w/ hidden problems. Tee boxes, fairways & rough in good shape. Green putting mid to slow.
Basic, challenging for the average golfer.
Rocky Point is decent. I like it because its close by where I live but I do not think it is worth their regular green fees. I went for a 1:00 tee time on a Saturday and bought it from Golf Now for $14. I don't think its worth more than $20 green fees. After a rain the course is pretty muddy for a couple days. The greens and bunkers are usually in good shape. I have been there many times, so I guess it isn't too horrible. Just not worth their regular green fee cost. Go in the afternoon with a Golf Now deal!
OK for the money
Well I played the course with my daughter and wife and it was pretty tough for them. A few forced carries and a lot of water. Ladies tees were not much of an advantage over mens blue. Couple of the tee boxes were closed due to repairs and you just teed out of the fairway. Couple of wet areas that were hard to figure as we haven't had rain in a while. However greens were OK and if you keep it in the fairway it is a reasonable test of golf
Great course with GolfNow rates!!
Staff was extremely friendly! Course layout was good. Great course for the beginner/moderate players. Course was maintained very well. Mid to slower greens with some bumps but very satisfied for a municipal course. Would definitely come back to play again!
depends on the day
This is the course I play the most. its right down the street and is not expensive. You have to get it on a good day though. If its been raining the last couple day the course has water everywhere. When its dry its a nice course to play.
Under construction
Rocky has some unique features that make it a fun community course. A blend of open fairways and some tight approaches keeps your interest up. It is currently going thru renovation to several tee boxes so bear with the construction. Early tee times are crowded but a more leisurely game can be had after 1. Discounts can be found online & frequent player cards. Local, easy to find tee times & some interesting holes on the back 9 especially.
unplayable
We got .2 inches of rain monday. We played tuesday, the course was so wet that we played lift& clean .We had to move the ball 20 to 30 feet to find semi- dry area. The greens are extremely slow.
Replayed course today w/ 3 buddies. Realized that most holes are Lynx style w/ some trees. Also realized that the course is surrounded by busy streets so is not a quiet/serene setting. The greens were much faster & in better shape than the last time I played here. Pace of play was slow also. Groups in front were 3 somes but slow.
