After being turned over to the city of Tampa for a mere $1, it reopened in 1954 as Rocky Point Golf Course. It is the closest golf course to Tampa International Airport, only a 15-minute drive away. The layout provides a fair challenge water hazards coming into play on 11 holes and sand bunkers strategically placed throughout. Rocky Point Golf Course's lakes are home to an abundance of wildlife and also serves as a bird sanctuary.

Good course
Not a good golf day for me, but the course was fine.
fun course. But wear a hard hat on 16 the box
the course was in good shape. It had some fun holes. Standing on 16 the box we almost got killed by people on the 15th and then again on the 17th hole
Nice golf in town
Interesting golf course with water ,and some difficulties . I like to play here when i don ,t want to drive a lot
Great course
Enjoyed our round. Course was busy but play moved well.
The course is decent
I've played here numerous times and given the price it's worth the money, now the snow birds are back the course always seems backed up. It's not one of Tampa's finest but the freens run true, the rough is not too shabby and the t-box's are in fair shape. They have a driving range and putting green and the clubhouse is fairly decent. Mr. B in the pro shop is one of the many friendly staff they have there. There are no houses on the course, but it does play along side a few roads so the back 9 they will come in to play on errant shots. One last thing it is a great walking course.
Nice round, good value
Course in good, condition especially for a city owned public course.
Green are true and wth nice rye grass.
This course is TOO Pricey
I'm not a big fan of "Snowbird" pricing.
It spits in the face of the many Florida residents who support your facility year round.
Good course for the hot deals price
Course was in fairly good condition. Being a municipal course, you get all the usual conditions. he roughs are VERY thick. The fairways were in good condition but it is obvious that most players do not repair divots. Greens were fair with few brown spots but a lot of obvious unrepaired ball marks. Overall it's a good way to spend 4 hours. Also, pace of play is slow during the peak season.
Fun Course
It's a nicely maintained course but it's a little bit cramped. We found the lay out confusing but overall it was nice to play and I would come back.
VERY GOOD GOOD COURSE AND WELL MAINTAINED
Considering the weather condition , this course was in good shape. There is evidence of a good drainage system for the greens and fairways as well. While playing this course there is a chance to use a wide selection of clubs by it's design and short and long par threes. Hazards are to be considered at all times.
Keep the ball in the center of the fairway, as with most courses, and you should get a good score.
Do not play this course! No Rain Checks or Refunds either...
This is Florida and rain storms are known to happen... Made it through less than three holes and it started to pour. Ran back up to the front office to get a rain check and the guy was gone (6 pm). Got receipt signed by another employee and returned the next day for the credit... Was informed they don't do refunds or rain checks.
The course is in terrible condition anyways. Don't waste 4 hours of your time.
This course is designed for the player that does not care about score.
The worst greens I've played all year. Rocky point is the last resort if you can't get a tee time else were. This course is ten min. from my home and I don't want to play it. Greens are always bad, slow and hairy. NOT FUN.
Terrible condition of range.
Horrible tee boxes, greens. Grass was like my lawn at home. Good job cutting debris away for visual ability purposes, but it was a glorified cow pasture.
It's a average course
If you can get on the course for a really low rate then it is worth it. The fairways are a little rough and so are the T-boxes but the greens are in decent shape. Everyone on the staff are very friendly and helpful, but they do need rangers on the course as sometimes play is extremely slow. I have passed this course at 6am in the morning and have seen the grounds crew out there, so they do try to maintain the course.
great course
Great course. Little slow Friday (not normal for here)· Ranger on front nine but needed one on the Bach where it got real slow. Greens were in great shape and f as fairways were good.
Good hidden gem
This course was a nice surprise. I was not expecting much for a muni but this course was enjoyable to play. Fairways and greens were in good condition. The tee area of the driving range needs some care. Pace was good. Will be back.
Great course, great location!
The course was in great shape. The course layout has a great mix of challenging and fun holes. The greens were fast and in great shape. The 18th green was the only one on the course that was in poor condition due to the cold but it didn't take away from the experience. The club staff were very courteous and friendly. I've played the course several times and the greens fees are very reasonable. I would recommend it for players of all skill levels!
cheap n' cheerful
Good value for $$. Pro shop and starter very friendly. Some variations from hole to hole, nice layout, back 9 more challenging, some nice holes. Worth playing for average golfer.
Nice course a little tight in places in average condition.
Course is in good shape, course is squeezed in fairly tight so would be a good walking and also demands accurate shot placement to not play on the wrong fairway. Well worth the money and as a city course is well maintained.
Good value for the money
This was our very first time at this course. It had been recommended by a friend. The course was in great shape, and we enjoyed ourselves. We will return.
Raymond.

Most understand that there are no refunds for twilight play, for it is a nine hole rate. This holds true for MOST courses for times after 2 or 3 in the afternoon.
