Knollwood Golf Course

This course plays really slow. There is no Marshall which might help if they do their job. They allow five-somes which also slows play. We had a 12:16 tee time but did not tee off until 12:45. There were no carts. It took five hours to finish. There was a tournament before us but there were long gaps in time between players finishing. New management needs to work on pace of play. This course is known for this so plan a waiting at least 10 minutes at each tee box also.

Played 2 rounds. First round delayed by 40 minutes due to power outage, only played 16. Second round 15. No food, didn’t answer phones.

I have been here before, but usually during the week and early in the morning. And I have played slow courses before, but you’re outside, you’re playing golf, whatever.

This was a whole new version of slow. Usually once you start you sorta get spread out and things move along. But today, after virtually every hole, we would walk up to the tee box and there would be two groups waiting. Not one group teeing off while the other waited... no. Two groups waiting and then us. This happened on every hole until we were about 2 hours in, waiting on home 5, and people behind us started to quit. 4 holes in 2 hours is a 9 hour pace for a round. I don’t know what’s going on, but they need to fix this. I did not get the impression this was a one-off kinda thing.

That being said, I’ve loved knollwood all the other times I’ve played. Challenging but fun.

Waited for a long time on each tee box and fairway for the group ahead of us and ahead of them.

First 3 holes had multiple groups waiting to tee off at the tee box.

Played 9/16/24 and course was aerated without any notice by either proshop staff or on GolfNow listing. There was also no reduction in fees to account for the poor conditions.

The greens on this course look like the surface of the moon. There is a certain population that is overrepresented at this course and they are notorious for not fixing ball marks.

Pro shop doesn’t care about the player experience in the slightest.

What can I say about the course?

I got a hole-in-one!!!

Horrible pace of play. Groups stacked 2/3 deep on every tee box because of one slow group out front. Get a marshall. It shouldn’t take 5 hours to play golf.

If you enjoy golf , you’ll enjoy this course from the layout, conditions , etc … it’s good enough for a local course.

Pace of play… Well, no starter , no Marshall along with 4-groups in front of us taking 3-4 shots to get to the green on Par-4.

Started 10mins late in accordance to my T-time. And took THREE(3) hours to finish the front 9.

About a 5.5hr round.

Really don’t wan to come back and run the risk of a very very slow round.

There were 5-groups that Td off before us BACK TO BACK… no regulation or structure.

No restaurant service for the early birds and bathrooms out of order.
