Pace of Play
I enjoyed to play here except for pace of play. Our players do not like this course due to too slow pace of play that is over 5 and hours. I contacted the staff when the front player play slow because of the empty hole. They responded very well and controlled front players. Afterward the pace of play was made up.
Are you kidding me?
Arrived 45 Min early, had a 4 some booked for 2pm. Staff told us that carts were unavailable, as people come off the 18th hole they would give us a cart. They were already 4 groups behind and giving out hand carts. This course is notoriously slow anyway, and we were not about to wait another hour and maybe get a cart that loses power after 3 holes and walk 2 miles uphill back to the clubhouse. Extremely poor managed course. They did refund my green fee, however, told me that Golf Now would end up charging my card for the “Missed foursome”.. Thankfully Hansen Dam had a 3PM tee time available with a fully charged cart.
Nice Track
Overall good track. Greens make it above average, roll nicely. Fairways are in decent shape for this time of year. Pace of play can be an issue, 5 hr.+ round on Sunday afternoon but that is common to me these days. Good value of a course for the money, especially in LA on a weekend. Will keep coming back to Knollwood CC.
Go play this golf course!
This is an exciting golf course to play. The first hole starts with par-4 with 1 handicap and the course is well laid out. If you're an average to mid-advanced golfer, I would highly recommend this course. No water hazards but it is still good golf course based on its price. ($41 @11:30AM, Sunday)
Staff
Well I still don’t know why the dry personality employee charged me 90.00 dollars when I booked it on line for 70.00 very upset about it
Slowest Pace of play in my 35 years of golf
Plan on 40 minute start delay if you tee off after noon. Took us 3.5 hours to play 11 holes. Shame bc the course is perhaps the best public layout within 20 miles of down town.
Disappointing
Greens are too fast for amount of slope... one foot putt from above the hole will not stay on the green!
1st six holes took 2 hours (5 hours total). Worth every dime of $24.
Over-Booked Tee Times
We had a 12:50 tee time & finished 16 holes. They over-booked the tee times after a rainy day. This was a painful round of golf on a nice course. They also had no beverage/food service.
Fun course
We enjoyed to play this course. I like recommand to my friends.
Great Course, horrible pace of play
I had played here once before and enjoyed the course. Thought it was a good challenge for me. The first time I played here, I was one of the first groups out on the course, so pace of play was not an issue. This time however, it was a mess. They are one of the few courses around that allows groups of five. I had two groups of five in front of me who were 2 holes behind causing a massive pile up. On top of that, the majority of the people playing the course were play from the back tees and had no business playing from the backs given their driving distance, causing further delays. I will not be going back here, which is really unfortunate.
Not worth the money
In a nutshell, the course has a great layout but it is completely trashed and not worth the price of admission.
Bad pace of play!
This course is ok but they always overbook. It took 6 1/2 hours to finish 18 holes due to waiting on every hole. They also book many groups of 5. Don’t think I would go back.
Great value for what we paid
First time we have golfed here. Took offer from Golf Now. Lots of trees yet many wide open fairways. The fairways grass was pretty thin and partly just green weeds. The out of bounds areas were not too bad for finding the ball most of the time. The greens had quite a bit of grass shavings on them. You could see lots of foot prints that appeared to be due to frost but there was no frost it was mid 80's. Upon closer look you can see it is a layer of grass shavings. Maybe the fairways will be better after the winter weather. Played 18 holes in 4 hours.
Hidden Pleasure
For a Los Angeles municipal course you couldn't ask for more. It's a pleasure to play this we designed course that is intertwined amongst the homes of Granada Hills. Nice elevation changes as well as thought out doglegs to some challenging greens. The greens are better than average but could be a bit faster for my liking.
All in all, you can't go wrong in giving this track a go. Book it!!!
Slowwwwwww
If you’ve played here before you already know. The pace is slow, it’s always slow! Played my first twilight round here hoping for something different but unfortunately that wasn’t the case. Besides the pace everything else was pretty good. Always like coming to play this course just gotta get it sped up. Probably could use a couple of Marshalls to help speed it up!!! Also the guys in the pro shop checking people in should really learn to smile and be nice. Always so grumpy. I mean really you work at a golf course , lighten up
Beware on the weekend
Three hours for the first nine! My round started out with the course adjusting my single start time by 30 minutes from 2:30 to 3:00 (I was not advised by the course or GN prior to arriving) .The pace of play was ridiculously slow. This was further complicated by the course allowing a 5-some. Needless to say I didn't finish the round, we only got in 12 holes. Additionally, this course is notorious for changing a Golf Now T-time single offer, it's happen to me a few times.
