Terrific Track
Wonderful course surrounded by woods and trees. Well kept...flurry of course maintenance going on Wednesdays, their big maintenance day.
Greens were medium speed and true, understandable as temps were 95-> 102 degrees for the week.
Fairway turf healthy with good lies all around.
Our group was checked in and warmly welcomed by Head Pro Nick Zanca.
Post round refreshments in bar area with normal friendly and efficient service.
Worth the drive!
I've played this course multiple times now, and it never disappoints. It's in beautiful condition, and provides changes in elevation, water, a few doglegs, and enough length to keep it challenging. The clubhouse is well maintained and the staff is helpful. It's my go-to course when my regular Country Club isn't available. If you are looking for a fun yet challenging round of golf, give this course a try!
A great place for beginners
My brother and I are novice golfers and we’re looking for a course that was beginner friendly that would accommodate a little slower pace of play. Kiskiack was just the type of course I was looking for to relax and hit some balls without too much pressure on pace of play. We played on a Tuesday morning and the conditions were great. There was a little construction on the course that I think should have been mentioned before we teed off. But it only interfered in the 18th hole and that was ok.
The driving range was nice as it offered the ability to hit from the turf or off a mat in the shade.
Overall my experience was great and I would recommend this course over some of the courses in Newport News.
Great Course
This is one of a few top courses in central Virginia area (40 mile radius). Fairways and greens... Hole Layout with minimum wild growth hazards...
Kiskiack
The course itself is a very nice layout. Lots of contour to the course and greens. The problem I have is that the greens were aerated and sanded and the 18th hole was turned from a par 5 into a par 3 but they don't tell you any of this when you make a tee time. I would like to play it again when it is in shape.
Great first time experience of course with family on vacation.
This was my wife and daughter's first time playing a full round of golf. The course was in great condition especially after all the rain a day earlier and the lay of the fairways and greens was competitive. Friendly staff and very welcoming. Will play here again. The Perkeys!
A day w my son
My 17 year old son and I played yesterday and enjoyed this course a lot. The staff was helpful and friendly and this course provided a good challenge and great value. We saw a lot of wildlife i clouding a bald eagle perched on lakeside tee box. I would recommend this course to any new visitors to Williamsburg
Awesome layout
Would have given a 5 star rating except they just punched the greens and hole18 wasunder construction . It went from a par 5 to a par 3. Really want to play again when these 2 issues are fixed. Really liked he tee boxes
The proverbial diamond in the rough
Wonderful course. Very well maintained. Staff super friendly.
SUPER SLOW ROUND
We really liked the course as it is a good layout, in pretty good shape and fun to play but I doubt we will ever go back due to super slow pace of play. They monitor the golf cart’s electronically and make a point of pace of play but do nothing to actually enforce those rules. We never saw the marshal on the front 9 and only after he overheard our group and the group in front of us complaining to one another did he begrudgingly go out on the course. The back 9 only got worse. At one point we had 5 groups on one hole. Yes you read that right, 5 groups! While we waited on the tee box with the two groups behind us, the Marshall drove by completely unaware of the situation. He absolutely clueless to what was going on. Hole 18 which is normally a par 5 was playing as a par 3 due to some hole construction going on so the course played as a par 70 and should have easily been played in 4hours or less. The group in front of us who normally walk said they can usually play in 3.5 hours, walking. Clearly management has no concern for pace of play and for that reason alone we won’t go back which is too bad because it is a really enjoyable golf course
Putting challenges
well maintained course. I never adjusted to the speed of the greens. many greens in regulation folowed by 3 putts. Not my best round that's for sure
Great Course
From my first interaction with the people in the Pro Shop and the starter of the coast, everyone could not have more friendly or helpful.
It was abvery enjoyable place to play with a great round of golf and I highly recommend it to anyone
