Ocotillo Golf Club - Gold/Blue

Been quite a few years since playing Ocotillo. Forgot how much water is in play.

Good shape given wet and weird spring.

Great course to play.

We played this course many times in March/April and we were disappointed in the course conditions. Pretty rough for what we were used to here. Staff was excellent, pro shop very well stocked and dining excellent!

The Blue and White courses, greens, tee boxes and bunkers were very hard. Breaking tees trying to put them in, bunkers hardly had any sand in them and solid ground.

This course is beautiful and unique in AZ because of all the water. Not a course for a beginner. Good money value after 3 pm rates.

Ocotillo is quickly becoming one of my favorite courses on the valley. There are 3 different 9 hole courses and each is difficult and unique in its own way. Not your typical boring course where you just hot driver and 7 iron on every hole. You will hit every club in your bag. You’ve got to approach holes with a game plan and hit different clubs to set yourself up for success. Conditions were good and greens were true. Only complaint is that the sand is very very inconsistent. Some bunkers are rock hard with no sand at all….

Too bad there are birds literally everywhere. That includes their « résidu ». The rest is quite good.

Was great except for the marshal who told us we were falling behind, even though the group behind us was never waited on us and we finished the round in just under 4 hours!

Ocotillo was in much better shape then the last time I played it - such a beautiful course and fun layout. Greens were a bit beat up but overall great day.

Get your day started with an empty saddle of a clubhouse guy. Have come to this course a few times now because I LOVE the layout. Tee boxes were very beat up. Other than that decent condition and fun layout. Cart staff and beverage cart lady were generous. But man oh man the RANGER is the WORST… telling our 4-some we may need to “Skip a hole” due to slow play. Right after he says this, we tee off and what do you know…. get to our balls and WAIT again for the group ahead. Continued to be hawked by multiple rangers all day, unnecessarily getting out of their carts to watch us play golf. They must’ve really enjoyed watching us swing it. Clearly the pace of play issues started earlier in the day and a few groups ahead, considering we tee’d off late. No apology from either Ranger for their rude behavior and getting out of their carts to stand over our golf shots. These guys are clowns and ruin the golf experience at Ocotillo. Such a shame, this facility has so much potential but the rangers and clubhouse guy have no clue how to run an operation. This golf staff is just a total joke besides the bev cart gals and cart crew who were generous. Don’t waste your money here, golf staff will go out of their way to ruin your experience. Class-less.

Lots of water, unlike any other course I’ve played in the area. Beautiful real estate and lots of water looks like Fort Myers! All in all an enjoyable day on the white and blue course. Nice shape with lots of shots needed in the bag. Only thing I would like to see is a course map or guide to show the hidden water you cannot see when playing sometimes. Other that that it was great. Will be back if I can get a tee time, very busy!

Great staff, great layout, challenging course but slow pace of play in the afternoon. 2nd nine was backed up and we waited. 5 hour round.

Perhaps if the Players Assistant had told us - would have been helpful.

Course was once again a pleasure to play, although it poured for the first 10 holes.
