Ocotillo Golf Club - Gold/Blue

My first time here…and I said the same phrase when I left as when I got there….why have I not played here before now??!! Will be coming back for sure.

Of the 4 courses I played in Arizona this spring, this may not have been my favorite but I still loved it...and it was the least expensive round!

We teed off at sunrise so we didn't have to worry about pace of play. The course has a surprising number of water hazards (some are blind, so check the card before teeing off), but the nearly excessive number of well-placed bunkers is what did my round in.

Despite not carding a nice score, I loved the course and would play it again if/when I return to Phoenix.

We were joined up with another 2 some, had a very enjoyable day, course was in very good condition

spoiled from past prices seemed to have jumped up 20 30 dollars especially after 1 2pm

Bunker liners are exposed in bunkers around the green. Fairway bunkers have grass ,weeds and rocks.

There was no food or snacks available….

The cart girl only had drinks……

Total lack of maintenance. Liners are exposed and grass and weeds in fairways bunkers.

Must be precise with your shots. I drive about 130 yds so often had to lay up on my drive or second shot to get over water. It was too hard for me. Pace was slow. Too expensive for the amount of enjoyment I got out of it.

Feels like a mediocre private club, practice balls need to be included. Condition was the worst I've seen at this course in the last 6 months, over grown everywhere and greens had grooves in them. Still nicer than most and bang for the buck is okay in current condition...... It's normally a bit more pricey but well worth it in good shape. Not so much this time.

Excellent course would be nice if there is less birds

This place reminds me of playing in the Midwest. Different than most desert courses here in Az. Lots of water. Just hit your targets. Only a couple of places that hazards are not obvious. If anyone in your group has played it a couple of times they can tell you where to avoid. Tee boxes and fairways in great condition. Traps could be better with a little grooming, but there is sand in them, just a little heavy after then rains earlier in the week. Greens were good. Look at your line and maybe fix a divot or two that previous players left. Used to love this place when it was run by Troon. Mickelson's group really let it go down hill. Forgot the group that owns it now, but thank you for bringing this back to a good place to play!

Been quite a few years since playing Ocotillo. Forgot how much water is in play.

Good shape given wet and weird spring.

Great course to play.
