Ocotillo Golf Club - Blue/White

My main reason for writing this review is to let you all know that the range is closed. Not sure how long it will be closed but there is some construction being done. I will ad that the majority of the fairways are shot. It's not even easy to find a place with grass in the fairway to move your ball to.

I really enjoyed the course...not sure why we (2 of us) were paired up with other players when the course were virtually open. 2 somes would have sped up the pace of play and made it more enjoyable. Good condition on the greens and tee boxes...the fairways were marginable, at best.

This is normally one of my favorite courses in the area. Wow! They have really lost it. Almost no grass in the fairways and the greens are marginal at best. Traps should be played as ground under repair. Not sure they can get it fixed until later this fall. What a shame!

This course has been a favorite of mine for over a decade but has deteriorated quickly and is not anywhere near what it was when Troon managed it. Tee boxes are uneven. Many of the fairways are nearly dead. Sand traps are like hitting off the cart path. Hopeful Mickelson’s group will drop a ton of money in it over the next 6 months because it needs it. I won’t play it again nor will I recommend it until it is in much better shape.

The course is usually in great shape. Live nearby and have played there often. Always recommending it to my friends. But this time was the worse I’ve ever seen the course. I played the white and gold. The fairways were in terrible shape. I hope whatever the problem is it can be remedied because I enjoy playing there.

This course needs to be shut down for repair. It was absolutely embarrassing... Range, tee box, fairways, and greens were all roached. A lot better courses out there for way less... hopefully this is better in prime season. I hate to leave a review like this, but it was horrendous.

I have played this course many times through the years, this is the absolute worst condition that this course has ever been in. For them to charge 50 bucks to play it is ridiculous, fairways were dead playing off dirt and the greens were horrible. They need to shut this course down and fix it.

Love ocotillo. Play here weekly infact.

Greens are the beat part of this course, everything rolls true and fast to where you actually get to putt rather that hit your ball with your putter

I loved this course layout in the winter, but the fairways are absolutely baked right now. Brown, cracked, and ugly. I know it's the middle of June, but other courses charge less $ with greener tracks right now. Otherwise it was a good round.

The course was in poor condition and when we played it in May it was in perfect condition. The staff wasn't helpful there are 3 different 9's and was not told where to go and when one of the attendants finally told us which one to go to we got yelled at by a foursome that we are on the wrong course and another person came out to take us to the right one. We didn't get help unloading our bags until after I put them on one of the carts. It wasn't a good experience I know the price was great but really wasn't worth it at this time.

Very well kept and just enough degree of difficulty to make you want to come again and again to improve. Staff was top shelf and very accommodating.

I love playing this course because of how challenging it is and forces you to play strategic target golf. I say grab a course map because there are hills you play that water is waiting just on the other side. Course is built for the more accurate player. One bit of criticism is the grill onsite. If you're trying grab food at the turn; hot dogs are the safe bet. Since they make it all from scratch, so if you wait to order. You could be sitting there for 15 minutes.

It's a fun course, definitely a must play if you're in the south part of the Valley.

Ocotillo today and it is an absolute dump!! Stay away. Virtually every aspect of the course is a mess!

TOTAL RIP OFF!

Ocotillo is typically a nice course, no problem with it. But the beer costs are now completely outrageous and charging for range balls on a pathetic driving range is a scam. Not one even lie or footing on the range.

I recently played Ocotillo again (Blue/White) after not being here for a fairly long time. I forgot how much I missed it. The layout os fairly open, with a ton of water, but still very pRange is being renovated and looks like it will be very nice when it is done. They still let you hit balls, they are just installing some great turf for the back area to help reduce wear, I would guess.

Fairways and tees were in good shape, a bit wet maybe, but this time of year it is nice to see. The greens were exceptional, soft, but firm enough to provide a great putting experience. Not super fast, 10ish or so...but just a solid, true roll and if you are decent, you are hitting some wedges that back up.

Food at the turn was good and the beverage cart attendant was pleasant. We saw her a bunch of times, even though she was covering all 27 holes.

I have nothing negative to say about the experience, except that the course is almost an hour from my house, so not an option for me all that often. But I hope to make it a monthly thing!

Kudos to the staff and grounds crew, great job in a tough time of year!

Subjectively I believe this course has more water on it than any other course in the state. My first time playing I had 7 penalty shots and still shot an 86. Had I played more conservatively it may have been lower. I would recommend this course to people who love a great track and want a challenge. For those beginners out there, take a lot of extra balls and have fun, it's a beautiful course.

Course will challenge you with accuracy , however plenty of holes that are less challenging to make it fun. Always in great shape. Great views of lakes and fowls. They have eliminated some of the extra birds , so less poop on and around greens. michelsons management group has taken it over. No more free driving range balls
