About
Ocotillo is a one-of-a-kind golf spot in a state full of top golf spots, and the four-star golf course is suitable for both golf upstarts and old-timers.
Ocotillo's Blue Course is a watery grave; water comes into play on eight of the nine holes. It's not overly long but there's so much water the length becomes irrelevant. The best hole may be No. 1, a 590-yard par 5. Big hitters are faced with the classic risk-reward: Do they lay-up on their second shot or try to fly a tributary that splits the fairway about 50 yards short of the green?
The White Course is the most unique of the three. It has only one par 5, and the water is a factor on just five of the holes. But it also has the best hole on the property -- the 479-yard, par-4 ninth, which used to be an easy par 5 but is now a treacherous finishing touch.

Course conditions were kind of strange for Ocotillo
The fairways were really unevenly mowed. Something must have been wrong with the mower decks or blades to be that uneven. And the driving range is way too close to the #1 tee box on that left side. Someone is going to get hurt bad. The pin placements were pretty brutal also. But it is quite a test with all the water and it’s always fun to play. One of my favorites!

Great Course
Great course with plenty of water. Fairway and rough were in good condition. Greens were pretty fast. Friendly and informative staff. I had a great time with my family golfing this course.

Always a good deal
The course is in good shape the fairway are excellent. The green were probably punched a few weeks ago so in about two weeks they should be running pretty good. It’s worth playing.

Horrible greens
Man, it’s absolute robbery with what ocotillo is charging for the conditions of their course right now. I play 2-3 times per week across the valley and these were the worst greens of any course I’ve played in the last year. It’s almost like the mower blades were broken and caused perpendicular lines to be scrapped into the putting surface. These lines act like a plinko board and you can see your ball stuck in the grooves and change direction. I understand accidents with equipment happen, but this was every single green and still charging full winter rates. I advise you go play anywhere else h ti they can get a hold of whatever happened

Beautiful course. Good pace of play.
Very enjoyable round. Played in exactly 4 hours. Limited waiting. Cart girls were around frequently and very friendly. Well stocked cart for mixed drinks, beer, other drinks and snacks. Course conditions were really expect for an issue with the greens on 1 of the 3 9’s. They had a mower issue that morning that did some damage to the greens. It was clear it had just happened that morning. Overall, beautiful course and a great day

Overall playable course
There is a lot of water but for the most part there is room to hit without white knuckling it the whole time. The fairways are pretty generous and in decent condition. Overall the conditions are pretty good. There are a lot of geese and ducks around and on a few holes there are too many. The greens were in good shape and tough to make a putt on. Practice area was mats only and the $10 range fee was a rip off. There were balls readily avaible without paying.

Horrible course conditions!
I’ve been playing golf here since 2000! Used to be my favorite in the East Valley and I always enjoyed taking guests here to experience Ocotillo. Not anymore. Since management changed, everything has gone downhill.
Started with poor outside service and pro shop checkin, to the ridiculously horrible condition of the course. Many Greens have dead stripes from leaky mowers, dead spots, and plugs from previous holes had sunken down 1/4”. Tee boxes are now rounded and were so hard you were lucky to get a tee in on the 1st try. Although it’s nice seeing geese and ducks on the course, they are way overpopulated now and there’s endless droppings EVERYWHERE! In all the years I played, Ocotillo’s rough was always green and beautifully kept but not anymore since the new management took over.
I will never again bring guests to this facility that used to be such beautiful course here in Chandler.

Good course except for bird poop
This is a solid course and somewhat easier to get on than many. The main drawback is the amount of bird poop on many holes. It was the worst I’ve ever seen it. They really need to do something to control the coot population. Otherwise a good course. Has a nice outdoor patio to enjoy a refreshment after the round or get a bite to eat.

Good course. Lots of water and sand
Fun course! Good shape and good pace despite lots of play. I wouldn't recommend it for beginners because there is a lot of water and sand....unless you bring a snorkel and camel.

Do not be fooled, play elsewhere
Trust me when I say this, DO NOT PLAY HERE! Save your $150. Unless you’re over the age of 60 and hit it about 160 off of the tee. Way too many janky holes and layups off the tee (even on multiple par 5’s) I’m talking 7-8 or so holes that you have to lay up off the tee on due to water throughout. Total Mickey Mouse gimmick course. The staff was friendly, was kind enough to charge us $20 for range balls that the starter said were free and clearly were there for everyone. Course conditions were absolutely brutal. Appear to be understaffed outside and overstaffed inside. Bring your hammer for the tee boxes (rock hard no joke) tee boxes were also shaggy and had divots from everyone laying up on every hole. Fairways were also shaggy and lacking attention. The greens rolled ok minus all of the bird poop. Bird poop everywhere, be prepared! I’m a 10 handicap and golf 3 times a week and I never leave reviews or complain. Our entire group felt robbed. $150 per person to play a goat track full of poop. Seriously, save your money and go just about anywhere else for the money.
