SunRidge Canyon Golf Club
About
SunRidge Canyon Golf Club provides adventure amid natural terrain over 7,002 yards of par-71 golf. The golf course was laid out by the golf course architect Keith Foster, who hid the golf course in the ridges and canyons of the foothills of the McDowell Mountains, one of the last untouched bastions of the Southwestern United States.
The SunRidge Canyon Golf Club's signature hole is the 17th, and it is unique, giving golfers the option of shooting a 209-yard, par 3 over a box canyon today and then going for a 152-yard par 3 from an elevated tee tomorrow. Foster discovered the elevated-tee opportunity during a tour of the golf course while it was being constructed and added the Canyon set of tees right then. The vistas he knew golfers would get were enough to convince Foster to set up the second set of tees.
After a round of golf at the SunRidge Canyon Golf Club, head back to the Ridge Room, which attracts visitors and locals for the great view and Southwestern cuisine.

excellent views
wow another great place to play a little on the tough side but worth it
wicked 6
the wicked 6 lives up to their name
Great course
One of the best tracks, short course yardage wise but plays longer. Great greens, and very scenic.
Good course, lovely landscape, slooooww
Such a shame that completely absent course marshalling, which resulted in waiting on EVERY tee from the 6th hole for the group in front to tee off (because the group in front of them were still in the fairway) means that what should be a positive review for a good course, in good condition and in a great location, is unfortunately not a positive one. At one stage we had 3 groups waiting on one par 3!
Shame.
Enjoyed the day
Sun Ridge has always been a nice difficult course. My buddy an I got paired up with a father son twosome, the young kid had no interest in playing golf, but Dad was dragging him around with him and they slowed us down, although the pace of play overall was slow. This course is not a course for beginners, it is way too difficult.
Folks, let your kids be kids and enjoy spring break in the desert and splash around at the hotel pool!!!
good layout
i enjoyed the course...greens rolled fantastic, but were unrecpetive to anything less than gap wedge due to firmness. also because most greens are elevated especially (the wicked 6) it was nearly impossible to hold a green if you were more than 100yards out.
Tee shots demand proper placement in order to attack any green. Make sure you play the correct tees to allow shorter approach shots,
Great layout, views and challenging. slow plat
Love the layout, every hole has character and challenging. Teed off at 9am - slow play on back nine. 4 hr 50 minutes is too long. Ranger told us 2 gentlemen in late 80's and early 90 slowing course down. Not fair to everyone else.
Beautiful course
Beautiful views on almost every single hole
Great views from multiple holes
Well designed course with scenic views. Course is in great condition. Greens are firm and fast. Shots off line are never to be found again. Not long in yardage but definitely challenging. A must play course. Amazing after round amenities also.
WOW I'd forgotten how much fun this course is.
Great test. Play the proper tees for your game.
Beautiful course, no 2 holes are the same.
Off the course, The Wicked 6 Grill, BEST SALMON TACOS EVER! Service great in all aspects. Our server in the grill, Gina, was great to say the least.
Revisiting
Pros: Nice layout, course knowledge is required but they give you a gps on your cart so pay attention.
Great shape with the exception of some greens.
Cons: Why in the world would you send out a 5 some.
We caught them and weren't able to finish - who made this decision and worse 2 holes in front of them there was a group of 6.
Golfers not fixing their pitch marks.
Good looking course but tough on first time players.
Many challenging tee boxes and greens are tough. Pretty course and good design but a difficult track for a weekend player.
Not a great experience
Wonderful tee to green track. But bumpy, slow greens putted terrible. And even if the greens were good, it was a 5 hour round which could be avoided - no marshalls.
Best AZ course of the guys trip! Exactly what we were looking for!
1st time any of us (group of mid thirties guys from the SF Bay Area) had played this course, to a man we all agreed the staff, the setup, 19th hole, and the views made this our favorite course of the weekend. I'd put it right up there with We-ko-pa for course conditions, and the elevations and wide variety of holes & shots have now made it a permanent addition to our AZ rotation. The view and vibe from the 19th hole are the best we've seen in either California or AZ. Fire-pit, waterfalls, Corn-Hole games, huge open bar over looking the valley, and the staff went out of their way to take care of us. (Priscilla, Tim, Scott, you guys like your job and it shows thanks again!) We also happened to met the Owners in the bar Don & Cindy, great people, had a blast hanging with them! We literally pushed back our flights to stay longer at the 19th hole. Thanks again Don & Cindy, see you next year!
Beautiful Track
Very nice, single loop layout. Greens were recently redone so need to mature. Otherwise, great views, great golf holes.
Tough Track
Bring your "A" game when you play here. The course begins with the easiest par 4 on the course. It only gets more difficult from there. The greens were fast and undulated. All putts breaks toward the four peaks. The last six holes are nicknamed the "Wicked Six". All six holes play up the mountain and club selection is critical.
Fantastic course!
Our group was unanimous in recognizing Sunridge Canyon as the best course we have played in the Phoenix area in our two trips down here. Excellent layout, beautiful holes...
Hard as a rock
We played course on 2/13/2016. Greens were extremely fast, but literally hard as a rock. Hitting a high approach into the green was too often rewarded with a chip or pitch from over the green.
Greens were also an odd color. They looked like they had been painted or otherwise colored.
For the price I expected better conditioning.
SunRidge has terrific greens, views and clubhouse
It's evident how much the owner, who bought the course in 2010, loves golf by the improvements at SunRidge over the past couple of years. Having recently reopened with perfect Champion Greens, the facility is about so much more than course conditions. The clubhouse has been completely remodeled to open up terrific views of the golf course and the landscape surrounding it. A revamped restaurant, regular live entertainment and lots of fun promotions complete the picture. As for the course, there are plenty of good holes, some of which can be quite difficult, but it really is playable by most levels if you pick the right tees.
