About
Nestled within Fountain Hills, the course at the Desert Canyon Golf Club offers a championship course with a variety of elevation changes with views canyon and mountain views. It is a desert-style course with some elevated tees and open fairways that play tight with a few doglegs. Water bunkers come into play on a few holes as well as numerous well-positioned sand bunkers. From nearly every hole on the golf course, views of the signature fountain in Fountain Hills, which is the world's tallest fountain at 550 feet, can be seen.

Don’t buy tee time on a weekend
First time playing a teeOff tee time on a weekend. TeeOff should not let this course sell a time for $ 60-70 where you can’t even finish 13 holes. Pace of play was a snails pace (behind a tournament). Tee time was 1:51 but did’t tee off until a half hour later. Group in front was so slow we played several holes twice while waiting.
Good course, some funky holes, nice people
We had an enjoyable round.
The staff are nice, the pace of play was good, the course layout was good but has some funky holes, the greens are nice, but pin placement was overly aggressive (e.g. too close to the front with no place to land your shot).
There are some really amazing views of the surrounding mountains.
I would play it again.
SCENIC CHALLENGE
The course has a good variety of holes with both elevated and lower level greens. The fairways are well maintained and the greens run fast and true. One of the best things about the course are the views. Great homes, distant mountains and valleys, mountain and desert landscapes make for a beautiful challenging day.
Nice layout
I played a twilight round . The front 9 went at a nice pace no backups. A lot of interesting and different holes makes for a challenge.
However, the back 9 was so crowded I stopped after 13 . I was able to play 17,18 but didn’t finish all 18.
A player assistant or Marshall would help move play along without the gridlock.
Pretty good
Course was in good shape. Pace of play was slow. Course was shorter and narrower than I expected. A few picturesque holes, but most holes were straightforward.

Course was great after overseeing and very scenic with the mountains all around. Will play there again, soon.
Extra charge for cart
Great course. Close by the house so I play here often. Charged me extra for a cart because I didn’t want to be with someone I didn’t know who was a smoker. Less concerned about Covid vs. the smoker smell but they didn’t care. Staff inside clubhouse needs to have a lesson in customer service and empathy.
Beautiful but tough course
The course was in great condition. Pace was good for a Saturday afternoon. Tough course with narrow fairways and lots of dog-legs.
