Desert Canyon Golf Club
About
Nestled within Fountain Hills, the course at the Desert Canyon Golf Club offers a championship course with a variety of elevation changes with views canyon and mountain views. It is a desert-style course with some elevated tees and open fairways that play tight with a few doglegs. Water bunkers come into play on a few holes as well as numerous well-positioned sand bunkers. From nearly every hole on the golf course, views of the signature fountain in Fountain Hills, which is the world's tallest fountain at 550 feet, can be seen.

Alfhough not a long course...still challenging and you need to play it well and place your shots in the right places. Fun day of golf
My new favorite golf course in Mesa AZ area!
Went out early by myself. Staff were great in giving me tips to play the course since it was my first time at Desert Canyon. I had played with locals at other area courses over the last week. They said you have to play Desert Canyon. Glad I did! Course condition was great for this time of year. Much better than other “must play” courses in the area. Greens were great. They held shots and putted true. Not too fast or to slow. Hard to rate pace of play as I went out by myself at 6:10am. I was back in my car on the road by 8:30am and did not rush at all. To really top it off, I lost a towel and someone from the course maintenance staff ran me down and returned the towel. That wouldn’t happen anywhere else. I played from the blues at 6,200 yards. It was a great time and I enjoyed the course. I will return my next trip back. You have to get out and play this gem.
Hidden Gem
Passing through from Texas on our way to San Diego. This is an amazing course. Great views, great staff and the course is practically immaculate. Finished our round in less than 3 hours. The greens are a bit fast so be careful putting downhill. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you very much.
DC
Great course. Fast greens. Little shorter than most 18s. Can be tricky but still a lot of fun. Got an Eagle on 17. 1st one ever
Improved course
Desert Canyon has improved over the years. Particularly the better speed of the greens. Several challenging holes even for a good golfer. Play the back tees.
Hidden Gem
Desert Canyon doesn’t disappoint. Very nice course in the middle of Fountain Hills. Lots of hills and elevation changes, greens are super fast, but the cart paths were brutal. This course is well-kept and is a great value. Pretty challenging for your first time but will get easier next time. Breathtaking views and houses around every corner.
Family Fun
We played Desert Canyon on a previous vacation two years ago and so thoroughly enjoyed the round we wanted to begin this years golf vacation with two of our sons at this course. The weather was perfect, mid 80’s, and the course conditions were excellent. The golf course and restaurant staff were friendly and provided great service. Cost of the round is what we expect, so no surprises. Overall a great time! Would recommend to everyone.
Must visit golf course
One of our favorite Scottsdale golf courses. Always enjoy playing here.
Beautiful course, beautiful setting
This was my favorite of four courses I played during my AZ vacation week. It was also the one I paid the most, which was less than three locals paid who I played with. I guess I lucked out using an online booking service. The 16th hole was a steep drop to a short par 3. Those are always fun. The only hole that I thought was crazy was #18. It's impossible to drive the ball to a flat location. Everything feeds down to deep, broad gully that is about 20 yards below the green. And when you're down there, you can't see the pin, which is behind a trap. Not a very fair hole. Otherwise I thought the course was great.
Greens were in good shape. All staff friendly. Size of range ball bucket is pretty small. Only saw ranger on 18 tee box? No warnings about snakes. The hot dog guy was pleasant but the cart girl was way out. Bleached hair, multiple tattoos looked more like an exotic dancer than drink server. Condition of course was great.
Great course and value
Been playing this course for many years and have many of the best courses in the area. The course was in great shape. Pace of play was very good playing on pace. The views are excellent as well. Great value.
