Desert Canyon Golf Club
About
Nestled within Fountain Hills, the course at the Desert Canyon Golf Club offers a championship course with a variety of elevation changes with views canyon and mountain views. It is a desert-style course with some elevated tees and open fairways that play tight with a few doglegs. Water bunkers come into play on a few holes as well as numerous well-positioned sand bunkers. From nearly every hole on the golf course, views of the signature fountain in Fountain Hills, which is the world's tallest fountain at 550 feet, can be seen.

Excellent value for money. Practice facility limited. No woods or drivers allowed. Only irons.
Ok iso
Poor practice facilities, no woods allowed and teeing area just sand, rubbish practice balls.
Course itself was ok and greens were fast and true, $120 though hmm not really, everybody charging to much as peak season. I would play it again at a cheaper rate
Great Course
Very nice layout and the Course was in great shape. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The group I Was paired with were very nice and made a great day on the links even better.
All great except!
We came to Arizona to golf, this course was in perfect condition and loved it except, we were stuck behind a very slow foursome. There were Marshals, however they should not hesitate to put a foot down and tell people to pick up the pace. That is their job, do it please. That little fix would have made this the perfect day.
Challenging course through upscale urban community
Fairly challenging course. Lots of up hill and down hill fairways. Greens are in very good condition, but some have fairly severe slop. Good tee boxes. Fairways are in very good condition. Friendly staff. Electric carts with GPS. Lots of great reasons to play this course, especially if you can use a promo code from GolfNow.
Great Course
Played this couse on Jan 31st and had a blast. Course was in great shape and the scenery was awesome as well.
Amazing views
Course in excellent condition greens fast and tricky pin placements.
Staff friendly and excellent food in restaurant with stunning views from the patio
Interesting course
Enjoyed playing here. Was a lot of ground under repair in front of tee boxes. Not sure of what was changed since was my first time there. Biggest frustration was tiny bucket of balls on the driving range. Was one bucket available for 2 of us to split & can't use your driver or other long woods. About 20 balls for 2 people. Greens were great as were the carts.
Frost Delay
Cart path only due to frost. I hate that. Other then that it is an good golf course.
Great day at Desert Canyon
Headlines: Great staff; interesting layout; good condition; nice facilities, quick pace, great value.
We arrived an hour early for a 12.03 tee. Bag staff really friendly and helpful, starter got us off 30 minutes early in a gap in play. Saw no-one else for the whole round - played a 4 ball in 3hrs50 - perfect.
Course really uses the terrain well with a huge range of hole shapes and elevation changes. Tees and fairways in good if not perfect condition. Greens in good shape running at 9 or 10 and really tricky borrows - some very big swings on slopes that don't look that steep. Great variation in par 3 length and shape including a really spectacular elevated tee on the back nine. Bunkers had thin layer of light sand over very dense damp sand, which took a bit of getting used to.
Carts had really excellent GPS giving exact yardage to pin of the day, tips on hole strategy and touch screen for measuring lay-up distances - a proper golfers aid with no stupid gimmicks like music or TV.
Saw the nice beverage car lady 5 times in the round. Clubhouse nice with terrace overlooking 1st and 18th holes (and the Fountain that gives Fountain Hills its' name). Did not eat but the menu looked extensive and interesting.
Lastly if you are into houses then there is a huge range of interesting building architecture on display around the course - although the houses never really intrude on the course.
Terrific resort golf - we'd definitely play here again.
Nice Layout
Course is NOT long but you will use almost every club in the bag..Fairways are generous, some greens are smallish....Fun layout, lots of elevation changes...Would play again.
Picturesque course
First time here, lots of fun. Had to wait on each hole a few minutes. Took 4.5 hours to play but not unusual this time of year. Food & drink available via beverage cart 3-4 times during our round. Great scenery, lots of birds.
Great course, well maintained
The greens were somewhat small and difficult to read the break. The course is beautiful and there are great views on nearly every hole.
Very enjoyable
Second time, and throughly enjoyable. Great layout, friendly staff. Great day.
Beware
On a cold day with light rain my golf cart’s battery began to fail on 12th hole. Called pro Shop who advised that new cart would be sent to me. By 15th hole still no sign of help. Called again and was told that no one could be reached in Pro Shop. Meanwhile my cart barely ran and I had to stop at times before I could continue at a snail’s pace. Skipped last two holes and limped into cart area where my complaint to the two employees (who were leaving) fell on deaf ears other than to say that pro shop closed at 2pm. and it’s a holiday. Their attitude was was as though the cart failure was something I should have just put up with as though it was no big deal.. Moral of the story, don’t expect help from the pro shop if you run into trouble on the course after 2pm and prepare to walk should your cart fail. Completely unacceptable in my opinion and with the many golfing options available in the area cause for me to reconsider returning any time soon if ever.
