About
Nestled within Fountain Hills, the course at the Desert Canyon Golf Club offers a championship course with a variety of elevation changes with views canyon and mountain views. It is a desert-style course with some elevated tees and open fairways that play tight with a few doglegs. Water bunkers come into play on a few holes as well as numerous well-positioned sand bunkers. From nearly every hole on the golf course, views of the signature fountain in Fountain Hills, which is the world's tallest fountain at 550 feet, can be seen.

Fun round of golf
Wide fairways, that were in great shape!
Creative layout, using the hills and canyons masterfully.
Greens hard and fast.
A very fun day of golf, in perfect weather conditions!!

A very nice golf course.You have to leave the driver in the bag on numerous holes.Lots of elevation changes with uphill shots to the greens.Staff very friendly.Will play here again.Can't forget to mention the fantastic views.
Our first round ever in Arizona!
It was a nice golf course right in Fountain Holls. The view was good - you can see the face in the mountainside if you golf the afternoon.
Wonderful golf experience
This is a fantastic golf course. Spectacular views and course was in great shape. Can't wait to play here again next time I come to pheonix. Staff was very friendly
great course
Great day and great course. Conditions were excellent and we played with a local great experience. The Staff at the course we're very friendly and accommodating. Some tough pin placements but overall excellent highly recommend this course.
No Two Holes The Same
Our annual Phoenix foursome circled back to Desert Canyon after several years and we weren't disappointed. The course is excellent, but what really makes the day is the people. The community and the course is laid back and friendly. A small complaint is the limited breakfast menu but the burrito was very good as were the Happy Hour deals after our round. The greens are a bit barren but other than that the course is in great shape. We'll be back!!
unfriendly staff
After finishing a round (at 2pm) we inquired about a replay and were told there was nothing until after 4pm. That was an lie! Instead of playing more holes we went in to eat and sat in a spot overlooking the practice green and the first hole tee. During the next hour we watched two groups on the tee box - only two groups in one hour. Clearly there was ample time to get more groups on the course. The course itself was only okay compared to the other courses we played during the week. The greens were not receptive (hard as a rock) and not easy to putt. We will never return.
I.nterestng course
Always in good shape. Pace of play well monitored. One of our favourite courses to play when visiting Scottsdale.
Still the best
Desert Canyon has been my favourite course for several years. It isn't the most challenging and might prove a little easy for single figure golfers, but I find it to be one of the friendliest courses I have played, it's always in good shape and I generally leave with a smile on my face. My only complaint this year is that it is so popular it is getting harder to get a tee time.
Desert Canyon Greens
The course overall is great. The fairways were in good condition and very playable. The greens were in mediocre condition. They seemed like maybe they had been punched a couple of weeks ago or perhaps they had some sort of treatment that killed some of the grass. They were a little bumpy and inconsistent. But I will definitely give it another try.
Very similar to WI courses I play for half the price!
As with all nice courses in AZ, to expensive! Will most likely only play there once each season . I don't understand why they overcharge to discourage replays!
Great Golf
I have played here many times and the course is in the best shape ever. The staff is super friendly and a fun place to be.
Excellent Public Course
Stay below the flag on these undulating greens. Great course, beautiful scenery. Plays about 200 yards longer than yardage on score card. A lot of elevation changes makes club selection a challenge.
Very average
Course is fairly short, fairways were in ok shape, but the greens were marginal at best. Pace of play was ok, but could have been much better. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Good mountain views and some interesting holes.
Nice Canyon Course
Nice scenic drive in to Fountaiin Hills. Course was in really good condition...green fairways, soft sand, smooth greens, and awesome views!!!!
Enjoyable
We played it for the first time on our vacation. We enjoyed the quality of the course -thought it was in great condition. Very friendly staff!
Excellent Golf Course
Great pace of play, marshal was great. Fun and challenging. Elevation changes are interesting. Love the views.
Bit Tired Vs. Past Years
Desert Canyon offers stunning views of the mountains, and is a pleasant course to play. However, it was "tired" vs. previous years. The greens are a bit bare, and overall we were not impressed with the condition.
Would not return.
I'm very sorry that you didn't enjoy our golf course this time around. I have been the Director of Golf for 3 years here at Desert Canyon and I haven't seen it better than this. I'm very sorry that you feel it was a lie that we had a couples shotgun at 3pm and our high school team that followed them onto the golf course. See when you do a shotgun you have to clear a certain amount of holes so we can start them all at the same time. In my 15 years as a Golf Professional I have never turned anyone away and won't start now. Please understand that Desert Canyon strives to make everyone happy and sometimes we fail so I apologize.
