About
Located a short distance from Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix and Arizona State University, Kokopelli Golf Course is a championship length course that offers many interesting challenges. The rolling terrain creates sloping greens and undulating fairways. A majority of the teeboxes and greens are elevated as well. The course also has large multiple island tees and water hazards in the form of meandering lakes that come into play on several holes. The signature hole of Kokopelli Golf Course is the par-5 18th hole. The dramatic finishing hole calls for a shot off an elevated too followed by an approach shot past water to an elevated green.

Muddy Mess
The course was not in great shape, it had mud on every hole on the front 9.
Stay on the fairway
It's a great course if you hit the fairway. If you don't, you're in dirt. Great sand in the traps but no water in the hidden holes.

Mediocre at best
Take your standards for playing, cut it in half and take another 20% off, that’s what you’ll get here. Confusing, not well marked tee boxes, bar staff choking out an other employee (yes, that actually happened), missing tee box markers and horribly maintained greens. This is the “cheap” spot we go to practice a little bit, but would never go to play an even remotely serious round of golf. Could be a really solid course if they put the slightest amount of effort into maintaining.

Greens are in bad shape
This course demands $78 for a round of golf but does not present value. Greens are in bad shape. Course is flooded with water all over. Many many barren patches right in the middle of the fairway. It is in in bad condition.

Swamp
Had first tee time and clubhouse opened 3 minutes before tee time. Course is a swamp, I think they flood it every night. Not sure why it's so muddy since every other course I play in the area isn't like this.

Getting better.
This course has undergone a lot of changes since i played it last year. They have done a really good job with fixing up the course (it was in rough shape last time). New carts too. Things are on the up-&-up at Kokopelli.

Look elsewhere
If you have 10 hours to spare to play a golf course with the worst pace of play I have ever experience. Pro shop could care less about it and god forbid if you call Golf Now to let them know about your experience. Do yourself a favor go somewhere else quickly and delete your Golf Now app.

Terrible and getting worse
We used to play this course every Sunday a few years ago. The course was in much better shape, the staff was fantastic and the range was in decent shape. Then about 6 months ago we stopped and started going to other places because the course is deteriorating at a rapid pace. We would only go to Kokopelli if every other course in the area was booked. That was the case this past Sunday and i can say without a doubt I will never be back to that dogtrack. The guy behind the desk was either in a bad mood or just had no personality. The outside service folks didn't say a word to us. I used to really enjoy talking with the main outside service guy who was there every single time we played but we were told they got rid of him. Stay far away from this place! Worst course in the state! I'd rather stay home than play this as a last resort.

Really?
Very ugly course...mostly dirt, weeds and unkept dead trees. Looks like they gave up on the course...no signs of upkeep or watering. Every hole is surrounded by swamps, junkyards, industrial buildings and ugly jungles...Even a place where some homeless people may live. They can't be proud of this one! Trust me...don't waste your money...you will be disappointed!!! Driving range is literally a dust bowl! no Grass at all!!! Staff was real friendly though.

PLEASE DO NOT PLAY HERE
This has got to be one of the worst golf courses I have ever played in my whole existence. It’s honestly embarrassing whoever maintains this course. Greens are horrible. Fairways are mud/dead grass. The “rough” is pretty much sand. Please do not ever play here.

Course is in terrible shape.
Pretty embarrassing to bring 3 of my friends to this golf course. I remember when this golf course used to be in great shape 5 years ago. Very sad how slow the play was and how bad the course was in. I will never play this course ever again unless they spend some money on it.

April 2023 review
The greens and the tee box were good as well as some of the fairway. One thing that we missed are the yardage marker. There was maybe two 150 marker on 18 holes. It would be much better if there was the 100 & 150 yard marker.
