Kokopelli Golf Course
About
Located a short distance from Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix and Arizona State University, Kokopelli Golf Course is a championship length course that offers many interesting challenges. The rolling terrain creates sloping greens and undulating fairways. A majority of the teeboxes and greens are elevated as well. The course also has large multiple island tees and water hazards in the form of meandering lakes that come into play on several holes. The signature hole of Kokopelli Golf Course is the par-5 18th hole. The dramatic finishing hole calls for a shot off an elevated too followed by an approach shot past water to an elevated green.

Is this round over yet?! Photo submitted by u000001335906 on 01/03/2015
Has potential but needs a lot of course work
The course layout is nice but they need some maintaining to be done. Greens and tee boxes need work too.
Needs attention
Lots of water setting creating mud throughout the course, obvious runoff from sprinkling as no rain in recent past. Weeds are out of control. Sand traps are plentiful and extensive but really no sand in most of the traps. Weeds and or crusty dirt/sand. Should eliminate some of the sand traps by properly filling in and planting grass then could maybe maintain/upkeep the remaining ones much better.
Susan
This course is in very poor condition, long thick grass, very dry and sand traps were like hard clay and no rakes. This course is challenging and long.
Golf carts weee old and both carts we had needed new brakes, peddle to the floor and still could not stop unless you had 100 feet plus in front of you. Could be a beautiful golf course but needs lots of TLC! I won’t be returning any time soon!
Will not play again
My daughter is getting married this weekend and I had family in town from out-of-state. This was one of the few places that I could get a teatime and host my family. I have golfed here before and enjoyed it but it was quite some time ago. Had I known the conditions were going to be as bad as they were, hard pan ground that I was afraid to break my clubs trying to hit on just off of the fairways, no sand in the bunkers and filled with weeds, and just a not very pleasant experience at all and quite frankly was embarrassed bring in my family there. Arizona is known for its great golf and this was a horrible experience for my family and myself. For that type of rates and to charge winter rates for a horribly maintained course is awful.
Wouldn't refund for one player that had an emergency
I made a tee time for three through golf now. When I got to the course I told them That I had just received a call that one player could show because of an emergency. They told me I had to contatc GolfNow. I did and GolfNow called Kokopelli and Kokopelli said they couldn't refund the greens fee because they had marked it as a no show. So I blame Kokopelli!
Not worth the money or time
One of the absolute worse condition and managed courses. Should have know better when I saw Arcis golf Manages the property. Was supposed to tee off at 1204, not enough carts so had to wait. But instead of utilizing the carts for the later tee times, after us, we just kept getting passed over. Finally at 1230 I went into the pro shop as the starter was oblivious, the guy at the pro shop counter states “ you were supposed to tee off at 1204” no kidding! But we couldnt because we didnt have a cart. Carts finally came, extremely dirty, beat up and in poor condition. The course was absolutely the worse condition I have ever seen a course. No sand in any of the bunkers but plenty of dried up dirt, mud, old grass clippings and weeds. Pace of play - terrible. Took over 5 hrs and we had to leave on hole 15 due to dinner plans and the fact we teed off 30 minutes late. GolfNow should pull this course off of their website. When I explained my frustration to the staff, I was given a coupon for a free hot dog/ brat! Dont waste your money or time!!!!!
Mediocre at Best
The course was not in the best of shape. Staff was friendly. Could use a picture of the hole layout. on the scorecard. Too many bare spots. Cart girl and snack bar girl were great! Fun course one time, but I don’t need to play it again.
Poor
The course has went down hill big. time. Sand traps are unplayable. The fairways have lost a lot of grass. Add some desert plants will make a major visual improvement. Will not play again under current conditions. Way over priced for the conditions.
kokopelli with neil
The course has got to do something with the bunkers. you can't have a decent golf course without at least taking a little care of the bunkers. Either take care of them or fill them in.
Mud which was scraped off cart paths was left in piles. smooth it out for goodness sake.
Phil
Layout looks cool. Putting water in ditches instead of the course ? Greens were good. Fairways around the club house were good. Front nine was like playing in a race track. Back was better. Looks like it was a very cool course in its day. To bad , don’t let it go.
Course needs some TLC
Sand traps barren like hitting off hard desert. Traps with any sand haven’t been raked maybe because there aren’t any rakes were scarce.
Pot holes abundant with large cracks and heaving pavement on cart paths.
Carts were filthy in particular the windshields and floor area.
Played in 4:10 so pace was good.
Stay in the fairway
Don't be deceived by the greenery in the pictures. Landing areas are grass, but there are vast expanses of bare hardpan. If you drive it off the fairway, it will roll a long way. Quite bit of water around, but you can't see it mostly when you hit. Also no drawings on the scorecard to show you the layout of the holes. This would be a minimal expense for the course and would have helped me save a few balls.
sand traps more like concrete trap
sand traps throughout the course and the only ones where it was actually sand were 9th and 18th hole, which are right next to the club house the rest of them were like hitting out of concrete. made a challenging course which is fine very hard to manage
Front 9 - poor condition
The front line was really in poor condition. The sand traps did not have any sound and were hardest rock. The fairways had a lot of dirt rather than grass.
Course fairways
The coarse fairways on the front nine were in really bad condition for this time of the year. No sand in the sand traps as it was hard as rock. No cart lady and when we went to the clubhouse they were closed for any kind of drinks or snacks.
