The Clubs at Arrowhead - Legend Course
About
Located in the west valley, The Clubs at Arrowhead - Legend Course (formerly known as the Legend at Arrowhead Golf Club) is an Arnold Palmer/Ed Seay-designed golf course with a traditional layout. The challenging course has six lakes creating water hazards on many of the holes and several doglegs. The difficult to read greens are undulating and in excellent condition. Each hole, except for one, has bunkering on the fairways or protecting the greens. The Clubs at Arrowhead - Legend Course's signature hole is the par-4, 426-yard fifth hole. It calls for a shot off an elevated tee with water running along the right side of the fairway as well as next to the green.

Golf now
Good track. $20 or $10 cheaper would have been nice. Fairways are firm. Greens rolled well AND ATE FIRM ALSO. . Tee placement was Sunday at the masters. February in Glendale is prime for Canadians for sure as we were paired with Canadians also. Sand traps were awesome!!! Easy to get out of and consistent. I would recommend a play for a $99 USD which was $140 CAD. Use GPS if you can. Course knowledge is a be if it.
Get out there and have fun.
I can’t say anything about the beverage cart as my partner paid. :)
Legends at Arrowhead
this is about the 4th time we have played here. I like playing here. The greens looked great but putted slow. I like the layout of the course. I find it interesting to play. Fair bit of water and quite a few bunkers. Playing this time of year, the dormant grass usually leaves a shot on hard ground. Quite a bit of "desert' dirt/gravel which is not the easiest to play off of. Will we come back, yup. Marshalls were very friendly. Played in slightly less than 4 hours
Difficult for First Timers
I thought this course was great overall. It was in fine shape and all things considered, the pace was acceptable for a weekend. I think if I played this course all the time I would like it a lot more. For a first timer with no knowledge of the course it was somewhat difficult. The biggest challenge was the area around the greens and the greens themselves. We hit several shots that seemed to be very good and close to the flag, only to see them slowly roll away from the hole and then off the green. Frustrating but not a design flaw by any means. Just hard for visitors. I'd still recommend it to others. Just know what you're getting into.
Nicely remodeled
Haven’t played it for awhile and looks to b in really good shape after the remodeling.
Geese, geese, and more geese. On every hole you dodge geese and tons of goose poop. Even the holes without water had geese, and goose poop. Tee boxes were uneven, and the greens are very difficult to play.
good but could make improvements
No help with bag when I arrived.
Wish they had included range balls in the golf fee.
Starter was very friendly, others not as much.
Great course layout and in good shape.
Greens very fast, minimal level putts, tough putting.
They closed/locked the bathroom on the back nine with many golfers still on the course - houses all around, need to leave bathroom open longer.
Price was excellent for this time of year.
legends
much better course after all the repairs. Cleared the a lot of trees and put real sand in the bunkers.
Mickey Mouse pin placements
First green is in bad condition. Pin placements on the day i played made it a miserable round. Basically the person doing pin placements should read the following
“
Pin locations must be balanced throughout the course with respect to the front, rear, left, right and center of the green. Too many left and right locations would require golfers to hit many drawn or hooked shots, which could be a disadvantage to golfers who have not mastered these shots. Holes should not be placed in "tricky" parts of the green or on extreme slopes where the ball would gain speed. Course superintendents choose a hole location so that no matter where the golfer is putting from, it's possible for him to hit the ball and have it stop within 2 feet of the hole. Course superintendents typically use a hole placement rotation when setting up the course -- six pin placements in the front third, six in the center and six in back of the green with nine pins on the left and nine on the right side of the greens.”
Pay close attention to the sentence that states you should be able to stop the ball within 2’ of the whole. There were a number of holes where this was not possible.
Lastly the fairways are rock hard and need water and the grass should be grown a little taller to allow for a user friendly lie. Would not be an issue if you were not hitting off of hard pan.
So because of this I will never recommend it play this course again
Legends has really upgraded and it shows !! Love it
Getting Better
This course is a decent layout and it seems like they are putting money in making the golf course better I can't wait to see it improve.
Played Jan 21
Went back to see what renovations were made last year.
Bunkers are beautiful now, if there is such a thing. Nice white fluffy sand. The kind you can actually play out of successfully.
Bare spots around the course have had sod lated down there.
Greens, however are still hard and very fast. Some have a little damage and many are pock marked with unfixed divots.
Just too difficult for many beginners and amateurs in my opinion.
LEGEND at Arrowhead is great!
Always a great track and the tee boxes and bunkers have been redone......much better and love the practice facitility as well......OH and they have Smashburgers as well!
