Palm Valley Golf Club - North/South

Pace of play was slow on the front 9. The Marshall said we were behind the golf school but they stopped after 9 holes and the pace of play was better on the back 9.

My wife and I played the course once before and both experiences have been excellent. I've played about 30 different courses in the last two years and this one ranks in the top 3.

I played Palm Valley for the first time and enjoyed it. The course layout is very good and some of the holes are challenging. Fairways are very well maintained and green is in very good condition and fast. Pace of play little bit slow as we finished the round in 4 hrs and 35 mins. Staff is very friendly and cafe offers many choices for drinks and food. Drink cart came 3-4 times during the round. I would go back again to play the course.

Nice layout! Plays to the player who "cuts" the ball

Smallish firm greens. Soft sand bunkers. The marshal was pretty visible throughout the round so you know he kept slow groups moving along. Nothing to see here! We were a two-some. Greens running about 8 on the stimp and were cut pretty tight. Pretty lush all over. Some burn spots on some fairways but no biggie. Re-playable for sure!

Decided at the last minute to try for the first time Palm Valley Palms course. Was paired up with 3 gentlemen from Canada who were great to play with. Found the course in very good shape from tee to green with a number of interesting holes. Had not tried the course previously due to reviews indicating 5+ hour rounds. Pace of play was right at their recommended pace of 4 hours and 15 minutes which was a relief after the starter on the first tee box had suggested that the round might take 5 hours. Will look to play again in the near future and got a good deal on Golf Now.

Very nice course and well maintained. Staff very friendly. Condition of fairways and greens very good. We will definitely return this week.

This was the 4th time I played this course. The previous times I thought it was just busy days and the slow play was an aberration. When you play this course be prepared for what we call Chicago golf. Close to 5 hour rounds, waiting on every shot, and 2 groups on a tee. Worst part was -- never saw a ranger on the course the whole day. Evidently, management does care about your experience once you pay your money. My recommendation, is pay more and go to another course, or pay less and go to a poorer course that has a good pace of play, you will enjoy your round more. It is truly a shame because it is a nice course, but because of the pace of play, a poor experience!

Staff is friendly and professional. Practice range in great shape. Round well managed. Fun golf course.

Course is in great shape and the pace of play was excellent. Finished the round in under 4 hours. Palm Valley is a great deal in winter/spring if you can get it for under $50.

This was a perfect day, the golf course was in very nice condition, the preparation was great and everything was there for a great afternoon of golf.....but it was difficult to get a rhythm going when there was a hold up at virtually every hole for a 4.5 plus hour round!!!!and it was getting dark so the golf groups to our rear must have needed lights to finish; as there was no real visible slow play I would have to say this was a case of too many golfers on the course at one time which is a management issue and should be recitfied...I will not be excited to find an afternoon tee time there until I hear there are some changes....

It was our first time playing the Palms course, having played the Lakes course for 3 years. My wife and I had a great time playing, not being rushed and having perfect weather. It was challenging just enough, playing the forward tee. Playing again this weekend.

The front nine was excruciatingly slow. A number of groups quit after nine which opened up the course. We played the back in an hour and 40 minutes and the round still took 4 hrs and 35 minutes. The ranger said there was a couple groups holding everyone up -- why do they wait until the course is backed up to fix the situation? Why not monitor it before it happens?

5 plus hours to play 1 round of golf. Just too many inexperienced players or too many PGA wannabe players, they should just play at the 4 hour pace. There's no Marshall to keep the pace up and management probably doesn't care because of the increase in snowbirds.

well maintained course; excellent pace on greens. friendly staff. even stray shots into desert areas left good opportunities for recovery.
