Golf Club of Estrella is the very first golf course on a daily-fee basis to be designed by Jack Nicklaus II in Phoenix, where it makes its home in the master-planned community Estrella, and offers 18 holes of par-72 championship golf over 7,102 unique yards. The many tests of the golf course will impress every level of golfer - though a choice of tee sets ensures no one will get in over his or her head. Desert and wash spaces require golfers to vary their shots while they take in vistas from the fairways shaped to the contour of the land and framed in the Sierra Estrella Mountains.

A round of golf at the Golf Club Estrella kicks off on Morning Star, a par 4 that measures 359 yards from the black tees. If you stick to the black tees, you'll need to conserve your energy for The Arroyo, the 16th hole, a par 5 that measures 605 yards. After that, Evening Star, the 18th hole, will be a relative breeze, at par 4 and just 437 yards from the black teees.

Once the round of golf at the Golf Club of Estrella is over, head back to the Player's Grill Restaurant for American pub fare and Southwestern snacks.

Extremely slow slow slow pace!!!

First time ever doing a review of golf. Worst golf ever! 4 carts on a hole for 12 holes is awful!! No one does anything and this is our first time out here. By far, they try to jam as much golfers on the course to make money. 10 min per hole waiting!

Sweet

Good layout . Fairways in great shape not much roll out. Monsoon rains really greened up the course. Quite lovely today. Greens are like Velcro but smooth. Assume they will cut them down to normal estrella speeds shortly. Recommend playing course as it is enjoyable 18

One of my favorite courses

I am a fan of Golf Club of Estrella. I love the layout and the course is normally in very nice condition. Earlier this summer they had some real problems with the greens, which are now resolving, with the exception of number, that is still in really tough shape with some new sod poorly laid in place that caused my birdie putt to take a bounce to the right. My only long term complaint is with their bunkers; they need to put some decent sand in the bunkers on the entire course! It is so hard to play out of these heavily lipped bunkers with what is really dirt, which tends to bounce your club. This is really not in character with what I expect form a Troon course.

Great Course

Got a smoking hot deal, probably because of rain threat.

But 5 minute shower was all we had, Had some plugged balls in the fairways- a few dry days will remedy that.

Some greens are real patchy- had a 'blight' problem but we worked around the problems

Played from the gold tee, Was a challenge for this 60 year old guy

The weather in the east valley sent us searching for some golf with the use of radar app and ended up here. We owned the course, 3.5 HR round. The fairways were awesome as usual and greens were recovering very nicely from being plugged a few weeks ago. Bare patches up around the front of a lot of greens and a few of the greens on back nine are in sad shape. Overall they are are working on it and the recent rain we are getting it will ill be in great shape in no time. Was worth the trip for sure. Love this place

Some Greens need help

Course is stunning, beautiful and great challenges but unfortunately the greens need work, multiple holes have visible 'waves' and some have serious patchwork you would expect for entry level courses. Even with that I'd be happy to play again.

Horrible service, conditions

Course is in horrible shape which is a shame because it’s a great location and layout. Absolutely no amenities at the facility. Counter service sub par food. No service whatsoever. Clubhouse is old and dirty. Not worth the drive to the west valley.

AZ Summer Golf

Better than expected course conditions, especially considering its July in Arizona.

Sooner or later we will get passed Covid restrictions, but not yet. No on course cart refreshments. Thankfully water coolers were in place.

This course is very, very nice.

Greens were slow due to recent aerating. Otherwise the course was in very good shape. Too bad the golfer wasn't up to the task.

Improving...

Played this course in early June and the fairways and greens were in horrible shape. Things have definitely improved some since then. The fairways have returned to typical summer conditions. The greens still have a ways to go, but they are now more grass than sand. Hopefully they can start mowing they shorter soon, which will make them much more playable.

Nice Course

Wishing it would have been noted on the “deal” that the greens had just been heavily sanded.
