Wigwam Resort - Blue Course

Of course it's obviously under renovation out there the reviewing and redoing the tea boxes so we have temporary tea boxes and it in the fairways are pretty sparse out there it might be because they're changing seasons Of grass

The golf was great. Played te Blue Course. Our starter was very personable which started the round off on the right foot.

Course condition for Wigwam was fair with dry areas and thinning grass.

We were the last group off for the day so pace of play was excellent.

The Golf Shop staff were friendly and helpful.

The restaurant food was good. since we came in through the "back door" there was no staff to advise seating so we just sat at a table....for about 10 minutes! finally a waitress asked if we had checked in at the front...no we hadn't as we came in the back door with no such person.. We found the correct person and sat back at the same table! Qn exercise in futility. Staff otherwise was slow but food was good and arrived in a timely manner. Thanks

The layout of this course has some unique features, bit the fairways we're in poor condition.

Course was in bad shape. Many patchy areas on the course.

Fairways are pretty sparse. Lots of very tight lies.

Greens we pretty even

First time on the blue, really fun layout that challenges you with small greens. Not a ton of places to loose a ball so it’s higher handicap friendly. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They are preparing to overseed so they have not watered it for a decent amount of time. Fairways are dried out and run fast as are the areas around the greens. The rough is still thick and green. For $50 and compared to the other prices in the area it’s a decent play. I would wait a few weeks until they water it to play again. Will definitely be back!

We were not happy with the condition of the course. Many of the fairways were not in good condition. We found the course very dry and the some of the greens also were not in good shape. Very disappointing. Not sure when I will be back.

I hesitate to give out 5 stars due to two issues. About half of the fairways were burnt out - thin grass on dirt and most of the bunkers (not all) needed a sand refill. Maybe this is due to late season .This was a departure from past experience when fairways were green/lush and bunker sand was consistent. Overall, a good experience, and a favorite course to play in the Phoenix area.

Worth the price! Course is always in great shape, free range balls, friendly staff.
