Wigwam Resort - Blue Course
About
The Wigwam Resort possesses three 18-hole courses, the Blue Course, the Red Course, and the Gold Course. All three courses were built on a rolling terrain with mature creeks sprinkled throughout and meandering creeks running through, which can all affect shots. The Blue Course is the shortest of the three courses but Blue plays long due to the elevated greens. The creeks create water hazards that come into play on several holes and there are also many strategically placed sand bunkers throughout the course as well. The Wigwam Resort facility has various practice facilities including a chipping area and putting green.

Nice course, just not the AZ feel
I thought the course gave us more of a Florida resort feel. We enjoyed our day and I did shoot an 80. I did hear it was a real nice course, but being from the east Coast, I just expected to see more desert and cactus etc. Hence my average rating. I just played 2 other AZ courses , had higher scores but just enjoyed the desert look a little more.
Fun course, looking forward to playing again
I played with my wife and another couple. The best of the 4 of us is an 18 handicap but all liked the course and are looking forward to playing again.
Great Course
I had a small trip to Phoenix to watch the Boston Bruins vs the Arizona Coyotes and I wanted to get a round in before the game.
The course was fantastic. It was the first day open after over-seeding, so I wasn't expecting perfect conditions, but it was darn near close.
It's a short course, even from the tips (6,600 I believe). The layout is fantastic. It has a great mix of grip-it-rip-it to thinking about the best location to place your tee shot for an approach.
The first few holes are odd as it's par 5, par 3, par 5, par 3, par 5, but it was fun. Hole 15 is a short par 3 with an island green that was fun to play.
I plan on going back to this course in the future.
Course was in great shape after re-seeding. Staff was courteous and helpful. A very enjoyable roung
Post Overseeding
I believe they opened up 4-5 days to early. Course was extremely wet and they hadn't mowed enough to provide a distinctive difference between the fairway and secondary cut. Fun short course but would have been more enjoyable if conditions were better or if there would have been a note before booking to expect those conditions.
Super Course-Super Value
Beautiful kept course and staffed by terrific people. The bag team was great. Pro shop courtesy.
Fun course
Has it challenges. Course was in the turn over for over seeding so had some rough spots around the greens. Really enjoy the course and the people. Have played the Gold course also. Like them both. Wish they more affordable during the snowbird season.
Disappointed Round
I've played Wigwam a number of times and all 3 courses. Played the Patriot because it was a good value at the time. The course was in horrible condition and we were under fire from adjacent holes. Pace of play was fantastic and was glad to get off the course. I usually rave about Wigwam but this round was awful. Still a fan of Wigwam but will never play the Patriot in the summer.
Thank you for the feedback. We are sorry that your experience is not what you have come to expect from the Wigwam and would love to discuss your situation further. Please contact the shop directly and ask to speak with the Director of Golf, Leo Simonetta.
Course condition a little rough
Normally a very good golf course. Currently, they are having some issues with the grass in the fairways. Lots of patches. You are able to move to grass once you read the card about local rules. Would have been nice if they told you that in the clubhouse. We figured it out after several holes. Still had good time and not too many people playing since it was right after a rain storm.
Checkin was very professional.. was partnered with couple who was familiar with course and very friendly. Course was not in the best of shape due to arriation being done and having extreme hot weather has not helped. I would really expect the course to be in better shape in the next week to 2 weeks.
Fairways and greens in good condition for this time of year
This is a fairly flat course, but kept in good condition as the Wigwam does. All the traps have been redone with new white sand added. The Patriot course is the shorter of the 3 courses The Wigwam has to offer. This is a good course for the intermediate golfer.
This course was in very good condition and for a short course, was challenging. I will definitely be back!
great play for the money
The greens had alot of grass damage, was like putting on glasss. Nice layout except for no clubhouse break mid-round. But, an enjoyable day.
