Wigwam Resort - Red Course
About
The Red Course (formerly known as Heritage Course) at the Wigwam Resort, which has received acclaim from Golf Magazine, is one of three 18-hole courses at the resort. Built on rolling terrain, the course features elevation changes that can affect shots. Mature trees are also scattered throughout to add beauty and another challenging element. Winding creeks form water hazards that come into play on a few holes. The Red Course is popular among locals familiar with the Wigwam Resort because it is considered to have the three best finishing holes in the area. Although walking is allowed on the other two courses, carts are required on the Red Course.

Marginal at best
Marginal at best for the price. Greens fine, fairways rustic. Very slow play.
Red
Very nice. Friendly staff and we’re lucky to get paired up with great company. Would definitely play again.
Red Course in Very Good Shape
High winds and rain (last 3 holes) made it a challenging day. Tee boxes need some TLC, whereas fairways were in very good condition and greens were fast and rolled true. Sand traps had fluffy sand, while rough, though green, needed to be more dense with grass. Pin placements on ridges and hillsides added further to the complexities. Pace was good for first 9, but slowed on back; still just under a 4 hour round. Ranger was consistently making his rounds to ensure pace was being maintained. Good value, this time of year, was also welcomed. Always look forward to going to this Resort (even with 1+ hour drive), which boasts having 3 beautiful courses and always being well-maintained. Keep up the good work — it is noticed and appreciated.
Wigwam Red Course
Course was in great shape. Only pain points were no carts were available when we showed up (overbooked) and the pace of play was really slow, almost a 5 hour round.
Worstless Ranger & I will lock up the Bathrooms before the course Closes!
The Pace of Play was slow. At the start we were told that a Tournament was .causing our start to be delayed.we were unable to complete our round because of this delay. No apologies from the ranger or the course. Should have been warned at time of our booking. During the Round we asked the same ranger to try and speed up play! He said he could do nothing about it because the players in front of us just would not speed up? Worthless ranger. Then on the sixteenth hole he said he was going to lock the bathrooms up! This was before the course was closed. Against the Law! All in all this Ranger ruined our Day! We would like a refund!
Great Day
Played the Red course and enjoyed the golf and playing partners .
Beautiful day in AZ.
Amazing course conditions!
2:30 tee time on a busy day, where was windy and cold. The golf course conditions saved the day! This course prides themselves on having the best conditions around and it shows! Greens were slippery, but rolled nice and fair. Fairways were awesome, never had a bad lie. Rough was green and full.
The only detractor was the layout could’ve been a bit more interesting, a lot of the same sort of holes.
Staff
I had an exciting round, as I made my first hole-in-one on the Red course hole 5. So, when I returned to the clubhouse, I asked young man behind the counter if Wigwam acknowledges my ace, he looked at me like I was bothering him. He then reluctantly told me the little Ace trophy is $15, but had to be cash. I explained I did not have cash, but did have a credit card. His answer was he couldn’t help me. A sour ending to an exciting day.
Hacking in the Desert
The course was a little ragged compared to the past. The sand & greens were in great shape. The fairways & rough were a little shaggy.
