Wigwam Resort - Red Course

About
The Red Course (formerly known as Heritage Course) at the Wigwam Resort, which has received acclaim from Golf Magazine, is one of three 18-hole courses at the resort. Built on rolling terrain, the course features elevation changes that can affect shots. Mature trees are also scattered throughout to add beauty and another challenging element. Winding creeks form water hazards that come into play on a few holes. The Red Course is popular among locals familiar with the Wigwam Resort because it is considered to have the three best finishing holes in the area. Although walking is allowed on the other two courses, carts are required on the Red Course.

Love Wigwam
The. course conditions were great!! Great weather, pace of play was slow due to the women's league.
Favorite Course
I always love driving from Northern AZ to golf at the Wig Wam!
Overall good
Great coirse layout, greens were good speed. Not undulating but sloped. Good value but pace of play was brutal 5:20 . Bit would definitely play again.
Suprising Joy
I had little expected little from a Resort Course. My brother was in town and dispite a 50 minute drive I booked the Red Course for a day of golf. Check in was easy and quick, Went to hit some balls and headed for the first tee. The drive to the first tee on the Red Course was a bit long but not difficult. Starter was pleasant and gave us the lay of the land. Played the blue tees and found the length to be just about right. Good course layout, Resort Layout, open, not a lot of trouble. Greens great shape, but the bunkers, well the best bunkers I have ever played in the Valley. Firm sand, clean well maintained. Congrats to the staff. All in all a great day.
Nice round of golf
The Red course is a nice course. Not overly difficult but challenging greens. Some tight Fairways make you hit the ball accurately with trees, sand and a few water holes that will make you pay. . Staff is friendly.
Red course ok
Played the red course for the second time. It’s on great shape but there is not much to this course. Pretty standard layout. Played on discounted rate would play it again but not at full rate
Great golf
Love the Wigwam, the red course was in excellent condition. Fairways were lush and the greens rolled true what can I say? It’s a treat when you get to play out at the wigwam. The 18th hole is a tester, first shot is key, then threaten the needle between the water on the left and right is a must so that third shot into the green gives you a birdie opportunity enjoy the Wigwam
Loved this course!
This course is absolutely fantastic! The greens are very challenging and fairways are open making it friendly for all players, while still managing to be a challenge for more advanced players. There are a lot of blind shots with mature trees blocking your greens, which can be both challenging but also kind of annoying if that’s not your thing. There will be plenty of opportunities for advanced golfers to work on shot shaping while less experienced golfers can work on prudently completing the hole. The only downfall is that the pace of play when we played was a little slow due to some newer, not ready for the course golfers, but it was also a Saturday morning so it’s expected somewhat. Other than that we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Wigwam courses and will absolutely be coming back on our next trip to AZ.
