Wigwam Resort - Red Course
About
The Red Course (formerly known as Heritage Course) at the Wigwam Resort, which has received acclaim from Golf Magazine, is one of three 18-hole courses at the resort. Built on rolling terrain, the course features elevation changes that can affect shots. Mature trees are also scattered throughout to add beauty and another challenging element. Winding creeks form water hazards that come into play on a few holes. The Red Course is popular among locals familiar with the Wigwam Resort because it is considered to have the three best finishing holes in the area. Although walking is allowed on the other two courses, carts are required on the Red Course.

Old School
The Course was in great condition and had a lot to offer. It’s great to see these old courses that you can walk if you want to. I really enjoyed playing this track because it brought me back to the good days of solid functionality and basic golf. Maybe a little redundant but that’s okay because you still have to execute golf shot.’s. Do yourself a favor and play it you won’t be disappointed..
boring
The only hole that was memorable was the 18th the rest are similar Boring, flat, No elevation changes, go to the next hole and the same thing, bunkers are raked but 1/2""or less down sold clay. greens and fairways conditions are OK. for the price I would expect more. We will not be back, We have played all three courses, but they are all boring.
Great value
The Wigwam Red course remains one of my favorite mid-priced golf courses in the valley. While not as difficult as the neighboring Gold course it has tricky greens and is a fun layout to play, and a good challenge from the tips. The pace of play was right at 4 hours, very good for a Sunday morning. The course was in good shape and the greens were fast. Very much worth the 45 minute drive from the East Valley.
The course was well maintained!
Good course, great service, and played in under 4 hours.
Wigwam Red Course
Golfed Red Course today and thoroughly enjoyed the layout and pace of play.. Friendly staff. We will be back.
We keep coming back!
We played the Red course again as this is one of our favourites in the valley. Lush grass everywhere, Well manicured, perfect greens, beautiful scenery with the large trees lining the fairways. Just can’t get any better! The Wigwam provides excellent practice facilities included in the green fees which is something one can take advantage of, especially after being away from golf for a couple of months, As a twosome we were able to play this course in three and a half hours as the threesome ahead of us were so courteous and let us play through. The staff were very friendly and we totally enjoyed our round.
Beautiful course
Wigwam Red is in excellent shape and very playable. Some tough holes though for sure! Staff is friendly, carts are nice and include GPS. Complimentary driving range and putting greens. Beautiful trees surround the course as it winds its way through gorgeous homes surrounding the course. Will definitely play here again. Cute turtle family in the pond on 18!
Excellent Outing
There was really nothing negative to say! We teed off at 10:30 and were done 4 hours later with nobody holding us up. Greens were in fantastic shape with putts rolling true and fast. The course has an interesting mix and offered excellent value.
Fun course
The shortest Mens tees are 6300 yds. The forward tees are 5806. A shorter version is available as five of the 18 holes have tees knocking if whopping 28 yds.
The course is NOT difficult. Pretty much every green side bunker is 5-10 yds back from the edge of the green making it easier to carry to the green. The greens ran very well for this time of year at a good speed. The overall maintenance is quite good. The Par 5 18th hole is a challenge. The second shot requires you to thread a long club between the trees and over water cutting across at several spots.
Very good course for the money.
Great course condition
Great place to play from pro shoo to facilities to the course. Greens still need a few weeks to grown in but still putt fine. Rest of course in Great Shape.
Money means everything
Before booking my rounds (2) for eight people I call the pro shop to confirm that the over seeding had been done for the winter. I was told that it had and that the course was in beautiful shape. However, upon arrival and after all eight of us had paid we were told that it would be “cart path only”!!! I explained that I was going to have a total knee replacement the following Tuesday and that I was trying to get in one last round with my friends and could I at least do a 90 degree from the cart path to avoid the walking on a bad knee. They said absolutely not. In my opinion, the staff in the golf shop should have told me the course stipulations when I called to book the tee times. Instead all they were interested in was the money for 8 players. I was very embarrassed about having my friends play under these conditions not to mention that the greens hadn’t been mowed or rolled and were slow and rough. Pace of play was 5 hours and we even had a Marshal tell us that we were behind pace and needed to pick it up. We explained that we were waiting on every shot. All and all, a bad experience all the way around. I wouldn’t recommend this course to anyone. And by the way, I couldn’t finish the round do to the knee pain from the excessive walking.
Average city course
Urban layout with little scenery or elevation changes. Newly seeded and cart path only. Game was ruined by the couple playing with us that spent more time on there phones than golfing. Golf courses should ban cell phones.
Cart Path
Only course open @ Wigwam. Gonna take a bit longer. Took us 4:37. Just hope you din't get paired up w/whiners like I did. I played well despite it.
1st time- good experience
plasyed 10/16- Red course, path only. Fairways a little "hairy", greens true, but slower than I'm used to. Good course and value, staff very friendly/helpful.
