Wigwam Resort - Gold Course

It was just before overseeding but I like the challenge of the course, can't wait to play it again after overseeding.

The course is ok, but not great. The layout is pretty plain and flat. The conditions were not great, but it was right before overseeing, so that was probably the main reason.

Off course, the restaurant, and clubhouse staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant, Red's, was very good. We ate breakfast there and went back for dinner.

It is very frustrating to have to wait 5-10 min on each shot when there are 2-3-4 holes open ahead of the group playing in front of us. Ranger apologized but did nothing to cure the situation.

The Red and Blue courses were closed for reseeding, which probably led to our round being a little slow due to the number of people on the course. The Gold course is in great shape, very forgiving rough, tough but true greens. From the Blue tees, it plays 6800 yards, but only has a slope of 127. The round was worth every penny.

It is very long course for a high handicapper. Starter did not inform us of the aqua tee boxes. It was a 5 hr. Round since we had to wait on a lot of the holes.

From the start the staff mixed our bags with other groups bags on the carts. Staff kept cutting off one of our players that was explaining that we were not part of a group of friends who all came to play together. The group ahead of us was an 8-some, and were allowed to play as 4 2-somes. To their credit they did allow us, a group of 3, to play through after 6 holes. Still, waiting 10-15 mins to tee off from the very first tee was a little much.

Later in the round a member of staff came driving down the cart path. We moved off the cart path to give them room. Staff told us not to drive in the rough….maybe don’t drive in the center of the cart path?

At the end of the day, at approximately $80 per golfer, I would have rather spent more money to go to another course. I won’t be back at Wigwam.

Course was in excellent condition. Not all water fountains on course working properly.

Course was in good condition, tee off was on time and the starter, food and pro shop staff were friendly. Great day!

I live quite close to the resort, but since I'm not very good, I cannot afford high green fees. In the off season, you can play a great course for a relatively low green fee. Highly recommend!!

This is a great course for all players at any level. The fairways are open with limited trees. Bunkers are placed at challenging locations and plenty of water hazards around the greens.
