Wigwam Resort - Gold Course

Playing the gold course and the pace of play was absolutely terrible! It took our group 3 1/2 hours to play 9 holes! To make things more complicated the course was cart path only due to an upcoming tournament which is great but cart path only really slows the pace of play especially when you’re stacking tee times on top of each other.

The course was in top shape. Even the seats in the cart were extra soft. Had a marvelous round on this forgiving course.

long and full of trees, so keep your ball in the fairway. it was a perfect day, even though we had a frost delay. The diversity of the three courses is great and a lot of fun.

Very well groomed and greens were great! Mature trees , and water hazards and bunkers were plentiful. Staff was very helpful and the practice area was excellent.

Upon arrival I was told there was a frost delay, no big deal. I inquired about the range and was told it was just over there? So I grabbed some clubs for my long trek to the range. Approximately 1/4 mile. While the walk did me fine everyone else seemed to be arriving in carts, where’s mine? Returned no to the starting area I was told the delay was short, 20 minutes or so. So off to the putting green I go. Approximately 35 minutes later I inquired about starting time. Was told to go and see the starter and when I arrived at the 1st tee Mr. Starter asked where have I been. In my opinion I was treated without care or respect of me being there to play a course I long believed was special. The course was outstanding, the playing partners were very nice but the overall service was lousy.

Played the club tees and battled the course. Rough was long and between the two of us lost 3 balls that disappeared. Frustrating not sure if this is how they keep the course at all times but it was unforgiving. Greens were slow but practice green was fast.

Played the other 2 courses at Wigwam a few years ago. Heard all the hype about the renovations at the Gold & looked forward to playing there. The course was in very good shape...but it was boring! I didn’t have an uphill, downhill or sidehill lie all day. The course is an oldstyle, flat Muni. Def not worth more than $40-$50, especially when it’s cart path only as it was today. And especially with tons of quality tracks all over the Phoenix/Scottsdale area.

I’m sure there are plenty who like this style layout, but to me it was just plain vanilla.

Friendly staff and good value. Course tee to green was in great condition but the Greens were very slow due to overseeing. Pace of play was ok 4 hours but was cart path only.

This was absolutely one of the best courses I have played since I arrived.

It's expensive for non resident people so take your money with you.

Pretty good all around for this time of year. Green skittle slow. Pace was a little slow but not awful for a Saturday in october
