Wigwam Resort - Gold Course

Pretty good all around for this time of year. Green skittle slow. Pace was a little slow but not awful for a Saturday in october

Always one of west valley's top courses long and challenging and have several tee boxes to accommodate even the higher handicaps a true old school Jim.

Greens were very slow. Felt like an average layout at a premium price.

Course was in decent shape, greens were on the slow side but receptive. We played the Gold course. Pave of play was about 4:20 with a 10:15 am T Time. They are getting ready to oversees. Reds does have some outstanding chicken nachos!

"It's late September and I really should be back at school" but getting in a mid-week round on the Gold course took my mind off the daily grind, the pandemic and the political noise on all the media outlets...even sports talk.

The course was in super condition too bad the overseed looms. The heat in Phoenix has not yet subsided but was not factor during my late morning round. The grounds crew has this place in tip top shape- kudos to the super and his staff.

It was most tempting to get a quick lunch and play another round.

The Gold course provides a good test for all levels just choose your correct tees and have fun !

Monday morning tee time took over 4 hrs to play 15 holes, absolutely ridiculous

1)Greens are as slow as putting in your front yard.

2)The ranger laughed at me when I asked if they had cold towels. (One and only time I seen a ranger hole #3)

3)the golf cart breaks hardly work

4) golf carts sound like they are going to fall apart.

5) The gps in the golf cart is the size of my iPhone.

I played this course once before but will never be back to play again

Tougher than it appears but excellent test. Great shape and obviously well maintained. I play all over and Gold remains a joy to play.

At on point there were 5 groups on one hole. No ranger in sight. I will NEVER play here again. Worst day of golf in memory. We quit after 9 holes !

This place is always refreshing to come back to it’s so simple

Booked 2 tee times through golf now, show up at the course just to find out they booked another tee time in the same slot and now we’re told one of our groups has to wait an hour or more to tee off. Mind you we booked early to avoid the heat. Our tee time was booked before the other group and we still get screwed. Horrible service

The course plays long from the tips, which is always fun. Only 2-3 greens/fairways had burn spots on them from the summer heat, the rest of the course was solid. Two par 3s were over 200 yards, the other two were Shorter, but challenging with bunkers and water surrounding the greens. My best guess was the greens were rolling between a 9-10. Average day of play for me, shot an 80.

Change of pace from the typical AZ desert course. Greens are sub par, Rest of the course is in decent shape.
