Wigwam Resort - Gold Course
About
The Gold Course is one of three 18-hole courses offered at the Wigwam Resort, which was named one of Golf Magazine's "Silver Medal Resorts." Golf Digest cited the Gold Course as one of the best public courses in the state. Mature trees are present on all of the courses, as well as winding creeks that create water hazards, which come into play on several holes. There are also strategically placed sand bunkers present on the course. The rolling landscape of the course causes elevation changes that can affect shots. The Wigwam Resort facility also has a putting green and chipping area.

An enjoyable day on the course
fairways were fairly long and rough was pretty long as well-probably due to recent rains and unable to cut grass
due to it being wet
Greens had some bare areas (mostly be the edges) and were somewhat slower than many other courses in the valley
Course is fairly long but many of the holes seemed to blend into each other and were not very memorable
pace of play was ok-approx 4.25 hours for 18 holes
Staff was very friendly and overall was an enjoyable
experience
Golfed as a twosome and got paired with an very enjoyable twosome which made the day very pleasant
Great Course!
First time play for our group. Excellent experience with good conditions, good pace of play & friendly/helpful staff. Will definitely come back & recommend to others.
Worth its weight in “Gold”
Course was in great shape today and pace of play way great. Went out at 8:24 and was shaking hands by noon
beautiful day
course in fine condition-played with 3 gentlemen in a timely fashion and enjoyed a delicious lunch
Best of the three
Wigwam has three courses, a great clubhouse, restaurant, and practice facility.
The gold course
We had a great time. The pace of play was great and I enjoyed the course out. I like all the wigwam courses but I like this the best.
Wigwam Gold
Course was in great shap. Wasn’t as difficult as described in website or explained by attendants. Would recommend it to a friend. Will play red and blue courses in future.
Very fast round
Greens in good shape. Fairways firmness was good after heavy rain two days ago. Be prepared for thin lies on the bunker. Not horrible but tough to adjust to. Would definitely play again. Fair value at ~$120 per round.
Worth playing again
Tee boxes-10. Fareways-10. Greens-8. Bunkers-6. Pace of play-10. Cool old golf course. Has a country club feel. All over seeded and very green. The greens were a little bumpy but rolled pretty well. The course was firm and fast. The blue tees played fairly short(0 handicap) because of the roll out on drives. Stay out of the fairway bunkers, thin lines and high lips. I'd play it again next time I'm in town.
Gold course
We spent $100.00 to play golf course. The people behind the desk we very unfriendly ☺️. The guys cleaning the clubs awesome. After cutting my head open o the #1 golf sign just by throwing something into the garbage and I rose up and hit the corner of metal sign cutting my head open. Then we got on the first green to find out the greens had been sanded. At no time did anyone tell us about the sanding. I would never spend this kind of money to play sanded greens. Very disappointment with this. INot sure we would play again.
Beautiful
We are visiting Arizona for the first time and playing many different courses. Our preference is a mountain course, but this was a beautiful course. For being a flat course, the layout was great. Even with carry path only, we finished in four hours. The fairways were plush and we felt the greens rolled well. The Gold course was very long for women, but we are definitely coming back to play the Blue and Red courses.
Average
Not certain why the Gold course is more expensive to play than the other two . Conditions were equal on all 3
course which condition wise were average at best. Greens all had sand which was very aesthetically unappealing. However they did roll decent and at a nice pace.. I personally wouldn't play this again unless it was a bit less expensive.. Decent Muni course at best..
Very Open
Flat course with lots of room to spray the ball. Round took 4.75 hours. No ranger. Greens were already dried out and sandy. Great clubhouse and restuarant. Nice practice area. Not worth the $70/person rate.
Wigwam Gold
It was a perfect day. The fairways are lush the greens are firm and true. Lots of greenery on the course not like a desert course. Nice layout. All in all outstanding. Also Reds Bar at the course great food and drinks lots of TVs to watch football.
Wigwam gold
Perfect day, nice practice facility. Awsome fairways nice greens. Lots of greenery. Loved it
