Wigwam Resort - Gold Course
About
The Gold Course is one of three 18-hole courses offered at the Wigwam Resort, which was named one of Golf Magazine's "Silver Medal Resorts." Golf Digest cited the Gold Course as one of the best public courses in the state. Mature trees are present on all of the courses, as well as winding creeks that create water hazards, which come into play on several holes. There are also strategically placed sand bunkers present on the course. The rolling landscape of the course causes elevation changes that can affect shots. The Wigwam Resort facility also has a putting green and chipping area.

Wigwam Gold
It has been a few years since I played the gold course and was impressed with changes made.
CART PATH ONLY
Cart Path only made the round harder and longer. It's nice that grass is growing, but the rough are nice and high and hard to see your ball.
Top notch
Great course, especially for the money, it was in immaculate shape. Staff was very friendly.
WIGWAM
Nice course with lots of options to play 3 different courses.
Challenging course
Pretty good course reminds me more of a course in Texas than Arizona. Course was compact enough,. even for duffers the pace is good.
Awesome
This course is always a joy to play very nice greens beautiful fairways. Play to gold side today. Absolutely beautiful.
Great golf experience...
Wigwam is obviously one of the better golf destinations in the West Valley. Only disappointment with my round is that I was playing (as a single) behind a young couple and they did not let me play through. Unfortunately I had to wait to hit at least one shot on every hole.
It's seen better days
To start with , the GPS on the cart was not activated. No water in the cooler and off we go to the first tee. Tee boxes are good, fairways are very thin in a lot of areas, bare spots are prevalent in a lot of areas. They have some GUR areas. Greenside bunkers could use some more sand. The layout will always be good but the conditions are not what they should be , it's not what I remembered from last time I played.
Wiggle My Wamble!
Nice layout! Good company too! Even with several 3somes in front of us (we be 3some too), still took almost 5.25 hrs to play! No bueno. Course difficulty was somewhere btwn Somewhat Challenging to Extremely Challenging. Nice undulating greens; nice putting surfaces; nice water features too! Saw fairly large Tilapia swimming in the "burn" that runs through the gold course! There is definitely a bounce back (with fishing gear!) in the future!
This course is number one in my book.
I've played at about ten different courses around Surprise AZ, it's by far the best!
Tuna
Only problem was the sprinklers were turned on in front of us for several holes
Called the office nd got No results
No excuse
We golfed from 10-2
Terrible conditions
Course was in awful shape overall. Dry and bare fairways and greens. Played the blue course a few months ago and it was in great shape, what happened?
Fairways a joke
Winter rules because they've screwed up the fairways. Hit 6 of 7 fairways on the front 9, 5 times I was in complete dirt looking for nearest grass to move to. For the amount of ads I get from them asking me to play there, expected much more as far as conditions.
Resort Course
Dead of Phoenix summer means the course conditions are so-so. But we still had a nice time.
Course is convenient
Very nice experience as all ways , professional staff excellent location
Under repair
They are aerating the fairways and over watering the tee boxes. Lots of mud for a beautiful course. The gold course is a big course but the mud made it hard to play.
Always a pleasure
I love to golf this course. I love the layout. I love the challenge. It’s always well maintained. Everyone is friendly and always go beyond to ensure everyone is taken care off. My only gripe is the concession prices. Soda, water, and Gatorade are marked up as much as the beer. The $4 hot dogs aren’t bad though.
Under Par Conditions
Play here once a month. Was very surprised to see so many dried and burnt out grass areas on each hole. Some areas in the middle of fairway didn't even have grass. Just dirt. Did not expect this from the Wigwam. Guess I'll wait until the winter to play here again when conditions are better.
Gold course
Staff was very friendly. Really liked the variety of holes (Gold course). Greens were in great shape , but fairways weren't in as good condition. The fairways were still transitioning to summer grass and had many rough spots. It was helpful to have been paired up with a local to help with course hints . Summer rate was a great value and we'll play here again.
