Wigwam Resort - Gold Course
About
The Gold Course is one of three 18-hole courses offered at the Wigwam Resort, which was named one of Golf Magazine's "Silver Medal Resorts." Golf Digest cited the Gold Course as one of the best public courses in the state. Mature trees are present on all of the courses, as well as winding creeks that create water hazards, which come into play on several holes. There are also strategically placed sand bunkers present on the course. The rolling landscape of the course causes elevation changes that can affect shots. The Wigwam Resort facility also has a putting green and chipping area.

Golf course is a perfect test of golf!
Great course from tee to green! You will use every club in your bag. Greens rolled fast all day long enjoy holes 10 thru 16 many opportunities to score birdies have a great time!
Enjoyed my round
Played on a warm day as a single on a discounted price and had no trouble going around the course. It's like that this time of the year here in Arizona.
Great time
Great course with plenty of challenges. Houses were present but not a threat to drives. Bunkers were placed perfectly. The red diner was a perfect end to the match. The only complaint I can give was with a single marshal. He tried to rush us a couple times while we were on track to a 4 hour round. I think he had some old friends that were trying to do a 3 hour match a few holes behind us. He actually made the group ahead of us skip a hole.
Great course
Not only fairways, greens but bunkers had soft sand. Very nice.
Course mismanagement
I like the course a lot, but this was a terrible round. The management, I guess in an attempt to squeeze every last dollar from a Sunday, booked two corporate groups, and allowed five-somes. That adds up to a five hour round, which was actually good considering it took us an hour and a half to play the first three holes. I guess they must not rely on repeat business, because I'm sure they chased many away. I will not go back. Too many better alternatives in the area to go through that misery again. It's a shame really because the course itself is in great condition and is a very good and fun layout.
Wigwam Gold course
I thought the conditions and greens were in the best shape I have ever played at this course. They made major improvements over last fall. Worth the price tp play.
An Difficult Course in Great Condition
We got a bargain here and the course gave all we could handle. You have to be able to put the ball in the right place to score on this course. Putting is borderline unfair on some holes. I putted off the green into the creek on 18 and I started my put down the center of the green. My only complaint is the layout is confusing in places due to the intertwined Blue Course.
Best condition in 2 years
Have played this course many times but had not played it for over a year due to conditions not being up to par the last time I played it. This time it was in excellent shape with speedy greens and grassy fairways that looked immaculate. I was very impressed by the conditions and will look to return in the very near future to play the course.
Nice but basic
The gold course is challenging but fairly bland. Every green is elevated and you need to know the overall flow. Of course we don’t as we haven’t played it or have a caddie to give directions. Not a good idea. Fairways are excellent with plenty of trees and obscure water canals you need to be aware of. Carts have good gps and you will need them.
Course was great but...
We arrived and their was no one at the bag drop. Pro shop staff was friendly and helpful. The pace of play was horrible. We contacted the pro shop about slow play in front of us but no ranger showed up. 5 1/2 hours later we finished. Nice course, slow play.

Very well maintained. Ranger allowed a five some in front of us which slowed down everyone else. Course was great, just pick a day when the winds are less than 20mph!!
Nice resort like course
Played the Gold course on a Monday morning, staff was friendly and helpful providing initial information and directions to get us started. Range balls were included so had a chance to warmup prior to the round.
Starter gave some helpful instructions and got us off on time. Fairways and greens were in great shape. Bunkers could use a bit more sand or maybe I should have gone in them less Snack shop and bathrooms are well placed on the course and the beverage cart was seen regularly.
Pace of play was excellent and even as a three-some we only waited once. The round took 4 hours
Will definitely play again when I’m in the Phoenix area. Was worth the drive out to Litchfield
Wigwam Gold
Course was in great shape and pins were in challenging positions today. Pace of play was fantastic for a Friday.
Near Impossible Greens
Other than the greens unable to hold the ball the course was nice. The greens were nearly impossible to hold shots and putting downhill was guaranteed to go flying past the hole no matter how light you putted.
Great
Beautiful courses but very difficult. Green is very fast
Wigwam Gold Robert Trent Jones and Tom lehman Redo
We were greeted by a friendly staff here and the
pre-round lunch was excellent with a nice staff in there. The practice range tees were a little short on grass but the area was expansive. The starter was friendly and cordial and got us off on time. \We found the fairways to be very accommodating on this parkland style course and water came into play on many holes. The greens were very fast and undulating creating many challenging shots and it required high iron shots to keep the ball on the greens.`I have not played the other two courses but this likely is the more challenging of the three here.
Gold very good classic course
Classic park style course in very good condition.
Greens very fast and difficult, like upside down saucers. Hard to score but gold course was in very good shape and we enjoyed it.
Excellent breakfast in Red's grill.
