If you’re tuning up for US Open, maybe a good option

Good: layout is mostly good, friendly staff, free bottled water every few holes, nice bar with outside seating

Bad: overpriced, chincy on warmup balls (bag of like 20), uneven tee boxes (pet peave) hard, slanted fairways that feed to bunkers or desert and penalize seemingly good tee shots, lots of tilt on greens that repel shots not hit to small target areas (downhill putts are nearly impossible to get close).

Playing in afternoon (dried out) and in the wind, is a US Open-like test. I don’t know how the average player could enjoy it.

Bad Policies

I cancelled a tee time over the phone. Got no cancellation email. Then got charged $360 no show. They refused to accept my assertion that I spoke to someone. Will never play again. This is the last money of mine they’ll see. And I’ll bad mouth them to every single golfer I know. And I know plenty.

happy day

the pace of pay is no fault of the course management - we were paired up with a couple that the husband had difficulty walking.

one of the more enjoyable courses in the East Valley.

Challenging course, bring water!

Longbow will test your golfing skills. Conditions are very good although greens are firm and don’t hold shots into them very well. This is a challenge as many greens have bunkers in front. One thing that was not good was they ran out of water provided on the course and yet charged the two men with us for the same water on the cart? This left a bad taste for them about the course.

A Cut Above

This was first time playing this course. The price was a little steep, but it was well worth it. The course conditions and layout were fantastic. I enjoy fast greens that out true and this did not disappoint! Played in just over 4 hours and had a terrific experience. Practice area is stellar and staff very helpful and friendly. After playing a couple other courses in the region and being disappointed with the quality of the courses, this was a clear winner!

pricey but nice

Course was in great shape typical of what you expect from Troon. played in a little under 5 hrs but it did not seem that long. Played with a couple of locals and they were great. The only thing that was a little annoying was the driving range was 100% full and we had to wait about 15min before we could get a spot. I think part of the issue was locals come out to just hit balls so the range was full of actual players. Payed about $165 @ 11:00 which seems to be about the norm for this quality. My old threshold of $100 max is long gone. ( I guess that is why the locals can't wait for us snowbirds to leave)
