Longbow Golf Club
About
The Longbow Golf Club offers 18 holes of par-71 golf that measures 7,050 yards from the Black tees.
A round of golf at the Longbow Golf Club kicks off on the par-4 first hole, which measures 451 yards from the tips. The back nine kicks off on the monstrous 10th hole, a par 5 that comes in at 626 yards from the tips. The round of golf ends up a bit easier, with only 474 yards separating the tips tee from the hole, a distance that the golf club recommends golfers clear in four strokes.
Longbow Golf Club offers SoloRider golf carts, allowing golfers with disabilities the chance to get around the golf course, as the carts are able to drive right on the greens without causing any damage.

Very Poor
This course is in terrible summer condition. I have played numerous other courses in the area that are in better condition. Like some grass on the fairway as 1 example. The greens at Longbow are like concrete. They are very undulated and very fast. Far to fast for where the pins are situated. Everything is on a slope and breaks away from the hole. Ridiculous! This isn’t the PGA it’s just a bunch of summertime hacks out for a cheap round of golf. Ruined by some jerk pin setter. Numerous pins tucked in behind bunkers. Nothing stays on the green and then you are chipping off of dirt and or mud. Don't waste your money on this goat track! It’s 115 degrees and they don’t have a beverage cart or ice anywhere on the golf course. Longbow greed just wants your money and could careless about you! Many better golf courses around the area for similar cost that also have water/ice stations and beverage carts to keep you hydrated. Corporate greed!
Don’t go anytime soon
Been wanting to play long bow as several people had recommended it so decided to go and check it out. Was really looking forward to the experience however, the nicest part of the course is the tea box. The green still need to heal from being aerated and the fairways Are almost complete trash. Yes, there’s good grass in areas however, a lot of times there was no grass. I was told it was to blame because of the overseas and the type of grass in the summertime. Would like to go back and give it another chance. Very disappointed in Longbow after playing it.
Hot and straight
Good course! great condition! They provide water in the summer and have extra if you drink it all since they dont have on course water. they do take care of their customers.
Spicy
the course, like all others around had some hot spots. Hard to miss those on any course i feel like this time in the season. Tee boxes could use some TLC, but i hit off them so there’s that.
The staff was amazing, friendly and upbeat.
It was a warm day which made it a bit spicy too play but then it’s AZ 107 out… this time of year… ALL day! Thank you for having me out and I look forward to next time.
Greens Aerated, Putting Challenging, course Disappinting
I’ve played this course before and have always been satisfied with it. However, this time was not such a great experience. The greens had been aerated yet. The person who checked us in at the clubhouse did not tell us that so we were a bit surprised when we got to the greens and The putting was more than say, challenging as there were aeration holes on every single green. So even if you made it to the green and regulation, there was no telling what your ball was going to do. I expect this closer to overseeing, but not in June and it also certainly was not reflected in the price.
Summer golf
Great price, dry conditions here and there to be expected greens fast and true
Greens need work
Greens Running at 14-15
That's lightning fast. Most PGA Tour events run around 12–13 on the Stimpmeter. At 14-15:
Balls won’t stop even with max spin.
Fringes grabbing spin is especially strange—likely due to shaved-down areas with different turf interaction.
This makes approach shots, chips, and even lag putting nearly impossible without perfect control.
80+ Bunkers and Blind Trouble
That’s excessive even by championship standards:
Walled bunkers + poor visibility = traps everywhere, especially for first-timers.
Runoffs into hardpan amplify mistakes—even good shots get penalized due to undetected contours.
Course Management Issues
Your 280-yard drives weren’t rewarded, which is frustrating—it sounds like positioning was more important than distance.
Without a caddie, you’re essentially guessing on lines, danger zones, and green reads.
Mental Toll
The quote “Great shot until it is not” is perfect.
Courses like this are a reminder that difficulty isn’t always the same as good design, especially when it stops being fair.
Doubling your handicap is brutal—but not unexpected given the conditions.
Very noisy course
Longbow review.
I feel this course is over priced and a bit of a let down for a Troon course. There is a VERY BUSY flight school and airport next door so the constant noise of prop airplanes buzzing above disrupts the peace, It’s annoying! There were many large dead grass swaths on both the fairways and greens which I’m surprised this is Troon managed. The course was too dry. Our 4some were all good golfers and moving along yet the ranger was a bit too pushy on the pace of play.
Late June summer rate of $79 + tax ($86) is over priced for this course and I will not play here again. To many better courses near bye in this price range without all the noise. On a + note the course layout and facility are nice as well as some nice desert landscape view’s.
Quit after 9 holes
Course was in so bad of shape I quit after 9 holes. Fairways were burnt and not much grass. Greens had been punched in the past week or so and were rock hard. I would not recommend playing it until they get some water on it
Always a Challenge
Golf was fine ...it was hot and I think a little over priced but not horribly. Some of the greens really need some hydration and are on the verge of burning in spots. Fairways were pretty good when I found them which wasn't often. But it was slow and on moving day of the actual US Open the group in front of us thought they had made the cut and were pretending they were there.....love to see the tops after waiting on par 5s for the green to clear. To bad amateurs don't know how to lay up.
